The US Sailing Championships provide sailors with opportunities to race against high-level national competition that is based purely on skill, teamwork and sportsmanship. Our championship hosts continue to set the standard in regatta management, while providing participants with skill development opportunities, outstanding hospitality, and a rewarding experience on and off the water. US Sailing organizes 16 championships hosted by yacht clubs and sailing organizations around the country. US Sailing and its volunteers work hand in hand with the host clubs to organize some of the more prestigious events in the country. Since 1925, US Sailing’s Championships have helped shape the sport of sailboat racing. Participants at some US Sailing Championships are selected by their sailing resume. The course to competing at the majority of Championships is either open or based on a ladder structure that begins at Area Qualifiers before reaching the National Championship.
