The Dolphins are "partnering with the Florida Lottery on a scratch-off game in which fans can win cash as well as tickets, merchandise, discounts and other prizes," according to Sarah Talalay of the South Florida SUN-SENTINEL. The $5 tickets were "available at select retailers" last week, and they are set to be released statewide tomorrow. The Dolphins also "will sell the tickets at Sun Life Stadium during games this season." The tickets "include 12 chances to win cash prizes ranging from $5 to $100,000," and "losing tickets have value in a second-chance game." Meanwhile, the Buccaneers and Jaguars also are "launching scratch-off games." The majority of each team's tickets "will be available in their markets, but a limited number will be sold in other parts of the state." The teams "each receive a licensing fee for the use of their logos and may also be paid for prize merchandise." The Florida Lottery indicated that the Dolphins are receiving $656,174 in licensing fees; the Buccaneers $525,580; and the Jaguars $300,000. Lottery officials estimated that if all three scratch-off games "sell out their ticket allotments" -- 3.9 million for the Dolphins, 3.24 million for the Buccaneers and 1.56 million for the Jaguars -- it could generate up to $8.9M for the state's Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (South Florida SUN-SENTINEL, 7/31).
