TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Lottery and Florida Lieutenant Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera teamed up with the Miami HEAT to honor the Florida TaxWatch Elite Principal Award recipients at last night's New York Knicks vs. Miami HEAT basketball game in Miami. Six school principals were recognized for their accomplishments in overcoming adversity, improving student achievement and helping high-risk students to beat the odds and exceed expectations. "The Florida Lottery takes its commitment to education seriously, generating additional funds for education and showing support for Florida's students, schools and teachers," said Lieutenant Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera. "It is an honor to join them in recognizing these elite principals who are impacting the state's most valuable resource - our students."
