Nexen Tire (CEO Hyeonbong Lee) is leveraging its partnership with Major League Baseball’s LA Dodgers to help further its local marketing efforts.Based in Los Angeles, the LA Dodgers is one of the most famous teams in all the National League West division of Major League Baseball (MLB). The team is especially famous in Korea for having fielded Chan Ho Park in the past. Now, with Hyun Jin Ryu in their ranks as of last December, the number of Korean fans cheering them on has swelled significantly. Through this partnership, Nexen will expose its brand through an outdoor billboard placed on the rolling board behind the catcher in the home ballpark of LA Dodgers throughout the 2013 season.“This partnership with LA Dodgers will serve as a good chance to improve Nexen’s brand image in the American market and also enhance the brands status significantly", said Janghwan Lee, Director of Global Marketing at Nexen. “We hope the young and energetic image of Nexen can be appreciated by the wide spectrum of American baseball fans who will get to know us through our sports marketing.”
