The UHSAA is the leadership organization for high school athletic and fine arts activities in Utah. Since 1927, the UHSAA has led the development of education-based interscholastic athletic and fine arts activities that help students succeed in their lives. The belief is these activities are an essential part of the high school experience and go a long way to improving academic performance and producing better citizens. The UHSAA reaches 142 member schools and over 86,000 participants in high school activity programs. The organization sanctions 10 girls’ sports and 10 boys’ sports and music, drama and debate in five different classifications. The UHSAA is governed by a 30-member Board of Trustees made up of elected school board members and superintendents representing all regions and areas throughout Utah, principals from each of the five classifications and a state board of education representative. The organization is committed to stressing educational and cultural values, improving the participation experience in activities, promoting life skills and lessons involved in competitive activities, fostering sportsmanship and mutual respect and assisting those who oversee high school sports and activities in UHSAA member high schools. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE The purpose and intent of this Request for Proposal (“referred to as “RFP”) is to solicit proposals to establish a contract through competitive negotiations with a qualified source to provide creative and exclusive merchandising services related to all activities, ancillary and otherwise, associated with all UHSAA championship events, as well as, to become the official and exclusive licensed manufacturer/distributor of all UHSAA championship events apparel and products. The successful Proposer must demonstrate its capability to adequately meet all the requirements of this RFP. This RFP contains information and requirements for the Proposer to prepare and to submit proposals for creative and exclusive merchandising services. Further, with any and all amendments, this RFP contains the only instructions governing the proposal and materials to be included therein. The Proposer must be in a position to commence the rendition of services on the execution of a mutual agreement. SCOPE OF PARTNERSHIP The Association is seeking an exclusive merchandising partnership (contract) that includes the following specifications: 1. The Proposer will commit to selling UHSAA approved merchandise at all UHSAA championship events. 2. The UHSAA and the Proposer will enter a contract in which both parties agree upon. The contract will result in a minimum of three years and a maximum of five years. 3. Proposer will staff all championship events with their employees and be responsible for all costs associated with the event – the UHSAA and its staff will not be held responsible for preparations, clean-up and staffing at events. Costs incurred by the Proposer at championship events are considered separate from the UHSAA merchandising contract. 4. The contract will reflect a flat fee to be paid to the UHSAA in installments mutually agreed upon in the final contract. 5. UHSAA Merchandising Flat Fee Minimum Requirements Per Year: $35,000

SELECTION CRITERIA The UHSAA is not bound to accept the highest bidder and will evaluate the proposals based on the merits of each and the manner those proposals addressed the identified needs listed in detail above. The proposals will be evaluated on the following: 1. Financial Incentives 2. Ability to meet the needs of the criteria as outlined 3. Existing relationship 4. Presentations of proposals at the UHSAA offices. 5. List of references including other state associations. EVALUATION TIMELINE • December/January 2015 – RFP Distributed to interested parties, posted on UHSAA website • February 19th – Completed RFP’s resumes due by 4:00 p.m. (MST) • March 9th-17th – Presentations done in the UHSAA offices by interested parties • April 6th – Notification of Awarded contract • June 1st – Three to Five year contract begins Please submit responses to [email protected].
