Hospital for Special Surgery is seeking an experienced marketing professional to oversee corporate events as well as the activation and development of HSS partnerships with professional and collegiate sports teams Responsibilities - Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with all members of the organization, including: Physicians, Executives, Finance, Marketing, Public Relations, Service Line colleagues, etc. - Evaluate and provide input on new relationships and marketing activities (e.g. sponsorship of particular events) - Develop, nurture and maximize activation of the existing relationships; oversee the day-to-day management of agency partner(s) and other strategic relationships - Develop an extensive understanding of: HSS and its strategy and mission; Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service; Sports Marketing strategic plan and priorities - Serve as primary point of contact for marketing partnerships with professional and elite teams and organizations; management of marketing partnerships may include: contract assessments, content and event ideation and development, on-site activation, etc. - Develop HSS Sports Marketing media and PR plan, messaging and content to be implemented across integrated communication channels - Leverage current HSS relationships and develop new relationships with current sports teams, agents, professional athletes and organizations to increase brand awareness, differentiation and choice for orthopedic care - Assist in the development of a plan to leverage HSS Sports Marketing program to the grass roots sports/weekend warrior enthusiast (consumers) in New York Metropolitan area and around the country - Partner with HSS physicians, rehabilitation, education, international center and marketing communications departments for optimal program development and implementation - Collaborate on strategic vision that positions HSS as the leader in sports medicine


Required Skills

REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor’s degree required - 7+ years’ account management experience (sports marketing, partnership marketing and business development background preferred) - Superior oral, written and non-verbal communication skills; ability to forge and maintain strong professional relationships - Ability to prioritize issues, resolve conflicts, manage project plans and communicate with all levels of the organization - Capable of resolving issues through innovative problem solving and solution development - Expert level proficiency with MS Office, including: Project, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint - Self-motivated, detail-oriented and pragmatic; a team player who is analytical and solution-focused while meeting deadlines - Proven success in developing a high-performance work environment and culture ELEMENTS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE - Driven to expand on current marketing knowledge and expertise; sincere interest in healthcare along with Hospital for Special Surgery and its mission - Ability to monitor and synthesize data, identify trends & insights and make recommendations based on rational thinking - Demonstrated cultural competence and ability to interface with a diverse, multi-cultural population; diplomatic and discreet; socially, culturally and politically astute - Committed to improving quality and service and maintains a spirit of cooperation and respect - Unquestionable personal integrity; exudes credibility and professionalism
