** Please note:  This is NOT an event planner position. There is no on-site coordination or party planning element in this role. **

The Events Manager will be responsible for defining and managing Sierra Nevada’s involvement in music festivals, sport events, beer festivals, community events, and other sponsorship activities in the South West, with an emphasis on Southern California.  An important aspect of the job is to maintain close communication with the local sales team on marketing activities in their area and build relationships with distributors, event producers, etc.  When out in the field, you will interact with event goers and represent the Sierra Nevada brand.  You will also be responsible for seeking out new events in the Southern California area for Sierra Nevada to be involved in.

This will include:

• - Researching events in the area to find good sponsorship opportunities for SNBC
• - Building relationships with event producers
• - Negotiating contracts for sponsorships

You will also:

• - Help come up with creative ways to engage customers
• - Observe SNBC’s event presence and be able to offer a fresh creative perspective and offer solutions where needed
• - Communicate with event producers on a regular basis to ensure events run smoothly and that our brand is well represented at events

Preference will be given to qualified candidates living in the major metropolitan area of Los Angeles, CA.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

• A Business/Marketing degree or equivalent relatable experience
• The ability to easily interact with many different types of personalities
• A knack for negotiations
• Superior organizational skills
• The ability to work independently with little direction
• A demonstrated ability to drive projects to a successful completion
• A history of contributing new ideas to your work team
• A creative and solution oriented focus in their problem solving

• You MUST have the ability to easily adapt to last minute changes and things not going as planned at event sites
• A flexible personality and the ability to handle stressful situations with a smile
• Excellent interpersonal skills is a MUST
• We are looking for a team player who is open to new ideas and having fun
• And of course, beer passion and knowledge is strongly preferred
• The willingness to study for and take the Cicerone® Certified Beer Server exam within the first 90-days of employment is REQUIRED

Additional requirements to be considered before applying:

• This position will require you to be on your feet for long periods of time
• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver 163 lb kegs safely and with proper body mechanics is required
• Extensive car travel required in Southern California, with approximately 6-8 nights/month overnight travel on average (some flying)
• A valid driver’s license and an exemplary driving record free of any major violations in the last THREE years
• The selected candidate will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check
• You must be at least 21-years-old to work for Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.
