The Senior Manager of Events and Sponsorships will provide direct oversight for the development and execution of ongoing resort-wide event strategy which meets the needs of the BCRC members, resort guests and village commercial tenants during both peak and off-peak periods along with development of strategic sponsorship relationships. S/he will provide direct oversight for the BCRC event department including management of staff and all applicable event budgets which continually meets financial standards set forth by the Executive Sr. Manager and Executive Board.


Based upon a Strategic Event, Marketing and Entertainment Plan, the Senior Manager will identify and establish long term sponsorship relationships, manage, administer, collaborate, coordinate and facilitate a variety of festivals, activities, functions, and efforts throughout the year in the Beaver Creek Village core and various on-mountain event initiatives. S/he will coordinate all efforts with Beaver Creek Ski Resort, the Beaver Creek Merchants Association, and Vail Resorts Commercial Leasing. The primary goal is to create, implement, and maintain a strategic events plan which continually reflects Beaver Creek as a world class destination resort community by maintaining animation during both peak and off peak season, and sell sponsorship opportunities that compliment each of the events.


Other specific opportunities to be the responsibility of the Sr. Manager:

  • Create special events and continually search for new events and sponsorships that maximize and leverage BCRC dollars.
  • Actively seek strategic partnerships across Vail Resort Inc. and develop strategic collaborations which promote Beaver Creek as a World-Class destination.
  • Work with the Beaver Creek Marketing and PR departments, various lodging operations, Beaver Creek Merchants Association, individual HOAs, VR Commercial Leasing, Eagle County non-profit organizations, Vail Valley Foundation, Vail Valley Partnership, among others to leverage resources and add value to events and activities.
  • Actively seek out and establish sustained financial and in-kind sponsorship agreements for all resort area events and entertainment; sales based on quota limit to be met.
  • Hire third party contractors when necessary. Negotiate sub contracts.
  • Manage the BCRC Master Event calendar.
  • Provide regular reporting to the Director and BCRC Executive Board.
  • Measure performance based on increases in sponsorships, event attendance, event execution, homeowner, employee and commercial tenant satisfaction, and intercept survey satisfaction results.
  • Prepare, manage, and monitor event budgets anticipating costs for production, technical, and promotional needs. Ensure detailed event financial information for fiscal reporting purposes.


    Required Skills

  • Bachelors Degree or higher - required
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, sponsorship sales, special event production, execution and management - required
  • A minimum of 3 years of direct people management experience - required
  • Must be a team player with excellent time-management, organizational, and people-management skills - required
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 30 lbs and be able to physically perform the key responsibilities of the position - required
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-driven, and organized - required
  • Must be present for all major festivals and events in Beaver Creek and be able to maintain a flexible work schedule. Hours will include weekends, and some holidays - required
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft office programs, Adobe Acrobat, and various social media software - required
