Gibson Brands seeks a Director Global of Events. This leadership position will:

  • Report directly to the EVP Outreach Marketing
  • Partner with the Global Brand Marketing, Entertainment Relations, Divisional Operations, GMs and other key positions to create high-profile consumer activations, long-term partnerships and increase sales
  • Increase consumer engagement and execute strategies to create deep and lasting customer relationships
  • Establish a long-term vision and practical strategic direction, develop and execute plans flawlessly, and inspire others to deliver the desired results


    Primary Position Responsibilities

  • Partner with the executive leadership to develop global strategies to support both the enterprise’s long-term vision and shorter-term goals and objectives (maximizing market share, revenue growth, profitability growth and EBITA)
  • Interact daily with each Events Manager
  • Create detailed event proposals including budget, consumer impressions and ROI
  • Coordinate event run of show timeline logistic details for internal departments and external partners
  • Create and regularly update operations manuals and best practices for all event managers
  • Provide timely, advance communications to on-site event coordinator to gain pre-event insights and identify value-add opportunities
  • Build and maintain rapport with new and existing global retail partners
  • Develop and implement a systematic process for tracking and reporting on the progress of event outreach programs dedicated to establishing true partnerships with customers. Assess and report on the progress made with each customer to ensure the entire organization is working toward the common goal. Take decisive action to correct underperforming areas.
  • In conjunction with the appropriate teams, serve as one of the primary relationship managers with customers to create deep and lasting partnerships.
  • Collaborate with GMs and other internal stakeholders to ensure their active involvement with customers
  • Partner closely with Global Marketing to support global marketing strategies
  • Partner closely with Global Marketing to identify opportunities to further penetrate developed markets, and develop holistic (same as above) plans to further penetrate these markets
  • Lead the Events Managers team on short-term and long-range planning process and budget development process
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
  • Build a great working environment for the employees that attracts, develops, retains, and motivates the talent needed to be a world-class, high-performing team

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Advanced degree is preferred but not required
  • Minimum 5 years as a Global Director of Events
  • Minimum 5 years experience with high dollar events and sponsorships
  • Exceptional domestic and international networking skills
  • Experience in planning successful large events with Senior Level Managers
  • Global view is imperative
  • Extensive experience with domestic and international events
  • Travel, weekends, and evenings will be required
  • Proven track record in establishing deep and lasting customer partnerships
  • The ability to grasp and fully utilize data from various sources to support decision-making. Possess compelling numerical and analytical skills
  • Challenge the status quo; proven track record of driving change, as well as teaching and motivating individuals to develop and implement new ways of thinking and doing business
  • Deep understanding of brands and their power in the marketplace
  • Results orientation that takes ownership of goals and objectives
  • Ability to identify and highlight issues early on, and develop and execute plans to address quickly and efficiently
  • Highly effective collaborator with internal as well as external resources
