The Marketing Events Specialist is responsible for strategic development and execution of Bobcat and Doosan’s trade shows, marketing sponsorships, marketing projects and other related activities. This position will work closely with the marketing, sales and aftermarket businesses to advance company initiatives through marketing contests and events, including Tier 1 trade shows (ConExpo, World of Concrete, The Rental Show, National Heavy Equipment), and Tier 2 trade shows (Regional); marketing sponsorships, including state, local and national opportunities; and dealer events, including dealer meetings and road shows. This position will be responsible for all activities associated with these events, from strategy and planning to execution and measurement.
RESPONSIBILITY
Trade Show Management
Develop, manage and execute the trade show program as a successful marketing tool.
Ensure Bobcat’s show presence provides high visibility and professionalism and reflects Doosan and Bobcat’s culture of focusing on the customer.
Research and prepare marketing tools to develop our dealers marketing activity at regional shows.
Develop RFPs and execute contract negotiation with all vendor partners.
Coordinate all logistics related to trade shows and events, including onsite coordination as needed.
Management and routine review of lead management efforts for trade shows and events for maximum lead activity.
Dealer Meetings/Events
Lead site, vendor and audience selection for major events, source components of events, develop staffing and budget plans and ensure effective delivery.
Lead and align all agencies to deliver on-time, cost effective and high quality strategy around major events.
Manage agencies to hold them accountable for maximizing financial and creative advertising, websites, event materials and resources.
Coordinate staff logistics, including selection, training, hotels, schedule and dealer/customer interaction to achieve event objectives.
Budget Management
Successful planning and management of trade show, contest and events budgets for Bobcat and Doosan (multimillion dollar budgets)
Successful partnership with accounting in planning and management of large expenses; routine reporting and adjustment.
ROI
Routine measurement of individual marketing contests, events and overall trade show program.
Dealer Trade Show
Maximize dealer exhibit rental & purchase program.
Liaison with Dealer Marketing for open house and marketing activities.
Staff Training
Educate and train employees to ensure customers’ quality trade show experience.
Agency Management
Manage the relationship and exhibit programs with current and future show vendors.
Sponsorships & Local Community Relations
Plan, contract and coordinate all state, local and national marketing sponsorships
Routinely seek and propose new sponsorship opportunities
Project/Process Management
Lead, manage and develop various marketing projects and processes.
Develop project plans with cross-functional input and support by entire project team.
ConExpo
Lead successful execution of Bobcat’s exhibit and marketing strategy at ConExpo, North America’s largest trade show
Lead collaboration of marketing, e-marketing, social media, advertising and PR activities to touch more than 1 million people and drive traffic to meet objectives
Coordinate staff logistics, including selection, training, hotels, booth schedule and customer interaction to achieve booth objectives
Design, contract and supervise build of booth elements, including layout, structure, store, pathways, equipment demonstrations, equipment placement and special features
Create and manage trade show budget and vendors.
Lead development and execution of lead management activities for Bobcat and Doosan
Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Communications
Experience Required: 5>7 years in event management and marketing
Travel Required: 10 - 24 %
Demonstrated exceptional event management and execution skills
Demonstrated strong project management experience. Highly organized and ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects.
Strong work ethic (job requires some overnight and weekend work and travel)
