The Senior Manager of Experience will be responsible for conceptualizing creative experiences, promotions and events that maintain industry and consumer perception of Calvin Klein as a leading lifestyle brand. They will directly conceptualize and develop all experiential marketing initiatives, including events, consumer engagements and other marketing extensions, in support of building brand awareness, all the while ensuring the brand’s standards are met and in-tandem with the current marketing positioning. They will be able to identify emerging trends, compelling brand partnerships, and creative ways of communicating brand messaging, while passing each through the lens of the brand to implement exciting programs that speak directly to influencers and consumers. With additional oversight on execution, they will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver against business objectives while carefully tracking budgets and results.
The ideal candidate knows what it takes to develop and roll out great experiences that engage the target audience and get noticed. They employ an integrated approach to marketing and communications (creative, digital, social, communications, media), as well as a capacity for unconventional thinking that will allow them to create personal interaction and engagement with the brand. They will be dynamic, influential, trend seeker & setter, with brand knowledge of industry trends, as well as a unique and creative point of view.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop creative seed ideas for experiences based on marketing strategy, messaging and program objectives and be an active force in brainstorming strategy, innovative ideas for potential partnerships, and various experiential initiatives
Function as a thought leader that generates useful, usable ideas across all existing and emerging experiential platforms including: product launches, press events, social campaigns, PR stunts, online videos, and a wide variety of brand touch-points
Write conceptual content and drives presentation development for projects assigned by Vice President – Special Events
Collaborate with creative, content and production teams to deliver the highest quality experiences
Research and evaluate the consumer marketing space to build concept plans and leverage experiential opportunities
Lead project integration amongst the various marketing, advertising and PR departments to ensure strategic, as well as consistent brand alignment globally
Evaluate competitive landscape to monitor strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities
Foster and maintain strong relationships interdepartmentally to ensure smooth execution of each event component
Continually keeps their finger on the pulse of what’s happening (both in New York City and nationally), including new venues, potential event collaborations of relevance, and potential entertainment, and presents these opportunities in a weekly team status meeting
Translates global marketing and branding goals into local marketing and PR strategies to promote the brand
INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONTACTS:
Internal: Special Events, CRK, Men’s and Women’s Design, Editorial PR, Corporate Communications, Celebrity Services, Creative Services, Fashion Office, Facilities, Licensees, and outside vendors, magazine partners and organizations.
External: Must be able to professionally liaise with corporate executives, vendors and industry leaders.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Indirect: Partner with Special Events team to ensure the vision is executed properly
DECISION MAKING:
Contributes to strategy and execution of PR strategy for one or more categories.
Recommend strategy and supporting marketing initiatives.
Select vendor partners.
Hiring of direct reports.

Experience:
College degree and 7+ years of experience in Luxury and/or lifestyle marketing and branding experience, ideally with a mix of agency and corporate in-house experience. Categories considered: fashion, hospitality, consumer tech, retail, beauty, design, etc.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required
Skills:
Possess deep understanding and knowledge of brand and full range of all products to convey Calvin Klein heritage and values.
Agile in maneuvering across a large and complex organization with the entrepreneurial spirit and mindset to make things happen
Able to think at a high strategic level, anticipating future customer needs and wants

Strong knowledge of modern tools and technology that supports the function

Strong knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other popular or emerging sites and how to leverage them to support the marketing and branding functions
Must have industry related experience in Fashion or Events
Must have strong brand appropriate aesthetic and excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Fashion GPS preferred, but not required
Excellent writing, research and analytical skills
Excellent time management skills, ability to multi-task and be proactive
Motivated, self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to learn
Must be resourceful
