Founded in 1973, Men’s Wearhouse is one of North America’s largest specialty retailers of men’s apparel. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Marketing to join us in our headquarters in Fremont, CA.


The Marketing Director will be responsible to cultivate strategic relationships with external partners, field sales team and internal marketing to develop initiatives that drive revenue, stakeholder value and brand awareness for the Men’s Wearhouse family of brands. Director will be responsible to deepen existing partnerships as well as develop new opportunities. This role will also be the point of contact for our field sales team, acting as a liaison between our internal marketing team and our stores. This will be a new role for the company. This role is estimated between 25-40% travel domestically.


Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:


Partnership marketing responsibilities

  • With Vice President, create and execute partner strategy (national and regional), operating procedures, structure, and efficiency that provide maximum value to corporation as a whole.
  • Responsible for defining , achieving and reporting Key Performance Indicators for each partnership, which may include but are not limited to driving revenue in various ways (e.g. generating and converting leads), maximizing ROI, maximizing brand impressions, obtaining and utilizing cooperative marketing funds, maximizing existing programs and forging new partnerships and sponsorships.
  • Research, recognize, actively pursue and generate new partnership leads; evaluate and oversee activation on opportunities.
  • Monitor competition, news, current events, market and relevant industry trends.
  • Lead pitch to outside partners; negotiate and execute contracting to achieve best arrangement for The Men’s Wearhouse while providing fair value to partner.
  • Oversee direction and execution of high value programs, as well as creative and formal proposals.
  • Strong ability to identify business issues, formulate plans to resolve these issues, and effectively communicate results to stakeholders, partners and senior management.
  • Create and lead regular productive meetings and interactions with partners, internal marketing team, and senior executives.


    Field Marketing Responsibilities

  • Develop field marketing plans for improving sales and profitability.
  • Assist the team in planning and scheduling marketing campaigns, tradeshows, conferences, industry meetings, etc.
  • Recommend innovative and creative marketing approaches for revenue growth.
  • Monitor and manage expenditures within allotted budget.
  • Recommend marketing techniques and tactics based on changing business demands.
  • Monitor field marketing programs regularly to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Act as a primary contact to address questions and inquiries regarding market related activities Departmental Responsibilities
  • Assists EVP, Vice President, and Sales/Field team and completes special projects as needed.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
  • Understands and abides by all company policies, procedures, practices and philosophies.
  • Builds and maintains internal and external professional relationships. Ability to influence across teams to achieve goals required.

    Required Skills

  • 10+ years partnership marketing experience; preferably in retail
  • Proven track record in developing and optimizing partnership programs with positive, measurable results.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Strong leadership, teamwork and leadership management skills, including demonstrated track record of developing complex partnership agreements
  • Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills while maintain a professional image and enthusiastic attitude at all times.
  • Flexibility to manage competing priorities and shift focus as determined by changing needs of the business
  • Must be an organized and motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills who thrives on working in a fast-paced team environment
  • Strong strategic thinking skills; analytical and budgeting skills; oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Willingness to travel and work in a nationwide team of professionals
  • Bachelors’ degree; MBA a plus


    Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands

  • Ability to work for prolonged periods of time while operating computer and telephone equipment
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week from the Company’s Fremont, CA Executive office


    This will be a new role for the company. This role is estimated between 25-40% travel domestically.
