Nielsen Sports is looking for a talented Director to lead its ratings practice, specifically servicing traditional TV and digital measurement needs of Sports clients.

Within the sports vertical, you will provide ratings related insights to teams, leagues, brands and agencies. Working with both clients directly and internal teams, you will be Nielsen Sport’s knowledge expert for in-house and external developments in TV ratings and cross media measurement. While not necessarily pulling data directly, you will have the ability to do so, and will be a subject matter expert on both sports and media ratings, assuring the quality of the data before it is delivered.

You will provide the client with value-added analyses and insights to help the client interpret the data and make better business decisions. This could include ad-hoc projects and thought leadership pieces. You will also act as a Subject Matter Expert to address client questions and concerns. You will work with various sport properties, as well as advertisers, Account Management/Client Service teams.

Key Responsibilities of Director

  • Lead TV ratings and cross-media measurement vertical for the Nielsen Sports team
  • Will serve as the day to day contact on client projects, and an active driver of client relationships in the Sports business
  • Work in close coordination with Entertainment and Sports Team to ensure that all client objectives are met
  • Ensure timely and quality delivery of ratings analyses and cross media measurement deliverables
  • Ensure deliverables clearly tell a compelling story that resonates with clients at all levels, providing actionable insights that turn clients into advocates for our work
  • Be a subject matter expert on the Sports team in traditional TV and digital ratings
  • Represent Nielsen Sports needs in digital innovations and initiatives at the Nielsen company
  • Use your expertise of the client, industry and data to uncover additional revenue opportunities. Activate other available data sources or new data collection methods, as appropriate, to address client business issues and showcase other Nielsen capabilities
  • Manage an Analyst and potential others as the team expands
  • Provide training to those in need, both internal and external clients and stakeholders
  • Assist account reps on all sales opportunities
  • Work with communications/marketing team for Nielsen editorials & wire posts as needed

    Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of, and passion for Sports
  • Expertise in one or more media (e.g. TV, digital) and working knowledge of others
  • Expert in one or more Nielsen ratings/ measurement systems
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Marketing, Market Research, or related field
  • 6-8 years’ experience in Marketing, Advertising, Market or Media research
  • Strong quantitative and analytic skills
  • Ability to independently analyze data, draw conclusions and provide recommendations
  • Strong project and people management skills
  • Ability to present to clients at all levels
