Overview of Role:


CLEAR is an innovative, fast-paced company searching for driven Director of Sports who will lead our expansion within the sports vertical. The Sports Director will be responsible for generating new opportunities for CLEAR in the sports industry, while simultaneously maintaining and deepening relationships with our existing sports partners. The right candidate will be a client expert with extensive sports industry experience. He or she will have successfully harnessed data and integrated digital, CRM and social channels to deliver innovative brand experiences in a competitive environment that meet and exceed prospect and customer needs and drive impactful results for the business. Take a creative approach to maintaining customer engagement with CLEAR and our sports partners during the off-season to add ongoing value throughout the year. The right candidate will be excited to strategically and creatively push the envelope yet be grounded in tactical best practice process and bring to an integrated team a can-do, proactive approach.


Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and develop new business relationships and serve as a trusted subject matter expert on the sports industry
  • Build strong and broad relationships with multiple points of contacts at each sports account (e.g., account executives, senior leadership, and support staff within agencies; investor relations; public relations; marketing; product management; the VP Sales; etc.)
  • Oversee a team of Sports Partner Managers ensuring our sports partners receive the highest level of sales and operational client service.
  • Play a key function in talent acquisition, talent management, and talent development for your team
  • Work collaboratively with cross functional teams (Partnerships, Business Development, Technology, Operations) to drive revenue growth with new and existing clients
  • Monitor budgets including direct costs and labor costs to ensure team members/direct reports are managing to assigned budgeted labor hours and managing direct costs
  • Generate, analyze, and drive key business decisions by utilizing standardized reports


    Required Skills

  • 10+ years of Client/Account Leadership and Business Development experience within the sports industry
  • Strong analytical/strategic skills and exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding and persuasive client-facing and relationship management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, presentation and organizational skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrated managerial ability
  • BA/BS degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. MBA preferred
