This position will report to the Director, Brand Marketing and will be responsible for activating the Alaska brand and driving revenue through the activation of marketing sponsorships and partner marketing efforts.


The Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air sponsorships portfolio represents a >$12MM investment, includes 60+ partners, features both experiential and digital engagement platforms, and spans a number of customer passion-points including spectator and participatory sports, college & university, community, food & beverage, film, music and theater. The partner marketing roster includes high-profile brands, causes and organizations like Disneyland Parks & Resorts, Strong Against Cancer, HRC, etc.


The Manager, Brand Sponsorships & Partner Marketing will be responsible for executing against the portfolio and delivering on brand and business results, while continuing to drive forward-thinking activation strategies for our role in the space. This sponsorships and co-marketing professional will lead the development of marketing promotions and campaigns associated with the sponsorship or partnership, and serve as the tactical liaison between Alaska and the partners to ensure delivery of Alaska business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead all 360-degree activation plans across experiential, media, digital, social and PR for all sponsorships and partnerships
  • Lead annual and situational briefing process across multiple internal and agency teams through program execution
  • Partner with colleagues across all lines of business to develop strategic sponsorship programs in - support of business priorities and product launches
  • Responsible for the Return on Investment of the program -including reporting on approved metrics
  • Manage day-to-day relationship with all sponsorship and co-marketing partners
  • Responsible for the daily activities of Sports Marketing and Experiential Activation agency partners
  • Track with agency partners (ours and partner) on the execution of all contractual assets within our current relationships
  • Deliver best-in-class sponsorship marketing platforms
  • Execute events that drive brand metrics, activation (obtaining marketing customers), product imperatives, and revenue.
  • Work with Brand Expression team to ensure all sponsorships assets are on-brand, up to date, and are leveraged optimally across all properties
  • Other duties as assigned

    Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably with a concentration in sports marketing or marketing
  • Minimum of 4 years required and 5-7 years preferred of successful sponsorships or partnership marketing experience on brand or partner side; major consumer brand experience strongly preferred
  • Experience delivering against a sponsorships budget of at least $12MM preferred
  • Proven success in developing and executing high-impact sponsorship activation and partnership marketing plans required
  • Experience reporting on sponsorship portfolio performance and ROI preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills required
  • Ability to adapt on the fly to changing requirements in a competitively charged environment and be willing to try new things in order to drive execution that successfully differentiates our product among a vast number of competitors
  • Ability to travel and attend sponsorship events in off-hours required
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously across various audiences
  • Strong cross-group and cross-division collaboration skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to think differently, challenge conventional wisdom, and drive new best practice
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be authorized to work in the U. S.
