The Director, Global Events is responsible for conceptualization, development and planning of all branded events targeted to the business needs of La Mer and the individual global markets. This includes creation of animation, protocols and execution guidelines. Partner closely with cross-functional teams and markets/regions to elevate brand messaging and ensure regional relevance and successful events.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Initiate and develop event concepts, collateral and support materials for all La Mer branded events, partnering with markets/regions and cross-functional teams to brainstorm ideas and ensure regional and local relevance. Strong emphasis on animation relevant to Asian consumers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Creative, Marketing and Product Development to coordinate initiatives to strengthen events, ensure consistency of product information and ensure elevated brand messaging and visuals.
  • Manage all aspects of events, including global event strategy and objectives, new event ideas, planning and execution and recaps.
  • Manage timelines and roll out of programs and tools to ensure on time release and allow for local market adaptation and production.
  • Partner with all markets (domestic and global) to ensure field needs are met, acquire feedback on events and incorporate changes as necessary; communicate Global event guidelines and protocols to Field Education and Sales.
  • Work closely with VP, Global Education and Events to understand Brand Strategy and Global Education and Events Strategy and determine what programs/materials are necessary to drive strategy in field.
  • Work closely with Global Education, Product Development and Global Marketing to understand new product launches/positioning of new products within brand and develop event programs and materials to support.
  • Collaborate with Field Sales and Education teams globally to initiate development and testing of new events in field; solicit feedback and incorporate suggestions as appropriate.
  • Partner with Online and Social Media teams to ensure current event content and dates are featured.
  • Responsible for budget management of individual programs to contribute to overall budget management of Global Education and Events department. This includes negotiating costs with vendors, reconciliation of monthly departmental expenses and involvement in budget planning for fiscal year.
  • Deliver all programs and materials on time and within designated budget.


    Required Skills

  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Previous experience creating and executing events in retail environment with proven track record of success
  • Proven exceptional ability in organizational skills, customer service, communication and business/management training
  • Strong relationship building skills with internal and external partners
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to personally organize and set priorities and to drive other people
  • Retail sales background a plus
  • Skincare experience is highly recommended
  • Up to 30% travel required
