The Director of Public Relations and Brand Partnerships employs innovative strategies to drive traffic, sales, and brand recognition through partnership via stores teams, media outlets and social media channels. He/she promotes product and marketing campaigns through effective media partnerships that are relevant to the customer while supporting the brand, and leverages his/her expertise to support internal events and initiatives, as needed.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Devise, plan and oversee the implementation of the public relations strategy for Aero and PS brands
  • Manage day-to-day PR efforts and direct public relations strategy and implementation, including agency management, external media interaction, press releases, product placement decisions and budget management.
  • Design and execute next generation strategy for brand PR, celebrating the brand’s strong following for fashion basics, positioning the brand as a fashion destination and emotionally connecting with the teen consumer.
  • Participate in the development of the seasonal marketing strategy.
  • Oversee key PR initiatives such as “must-have” product and category launches.
  • Oversee key brand partnerships and collaborations with influencers and celebrities
  • Maintain strong relationships with Fashion Directors, key fashion and accessory editors, relevant fashion stylists and bloggers.
  • Cultivate relationships with influencers for product seeding/recruit brand ambassadors.
  • Oversee the brand’s coverage nationally and regionally in print, broadcast and digital.
  • Oversee company samples and maintain sample closet and internal calendar.
  • Partner with Social media team to ensure calendar alignment and synergies.
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of the company’s internal newsletter.
  • Develop and pitch feature brand / product / store opening / charity program stories to national and regional outlets and support field events (new store openings, local marketing and localized charitable giving events).
  • Oversee analysis of PR activities, monitor coverage and proactively recommend strategies to target opportunities.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to support internal initiatives and events through communication and branding.


    Required Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Public Relations or Marketing or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years experience in retail public relations, marketing and communications.
  • 4+ years experience in leadership role
  • Solid network of fashion and lifestyle press contacts within print, broadcast, digital and entertainment industries
  • Solid knowledge of current and emerging communication channels/mediums and technologies (e.g., blogs, twitter).
  • Understanding of the media environment and experience working with editors, stylists, and producers.
