SUMMARY
This position is responsible for developing and executing seasonal marketing strategies to support a broad range of sports/athletic brands, inclusive of Starter, OP, Danskin, Pony, and Umbro. The position will work in conjunction with the Brand Management team to deliver on key seasonal objectives. Additional responsibilities include partnering with the creative team to concept seasonal campaigns to include talent, digital and social campaigns, public relations strategies, print and online campaigns, promotions, events, and in-store presentation.
The ideal candidate needs to have a background across traditional and interactive media in the sports apparel and/or entertainment industry, strong concept and presentation skills, and proven ability to execute strategies. Candidate must be able to articulate and sell creative to internal stakeholders through authorship and presentation of sound creative concepts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
>Provide expertise in creating and developing brand strategies including creative direction, talent options, and marketing strategies for the Iconix Sports brands. Serve as brand champion and project manager for specified campaigns and marketing activations.
Lead the development and execution of the Sports marketing campaigns. Partner with the business team, public relations team, trend directors, and art directors in the development of both creative and tactical marketing executions that build brand equity, excitement, disruption and awareness for our brand portfolio.
Guide the direction of both short and long-term brand marketing plans identifying business objectives, strategies, positioning, key initiatives and performance measurements.
Be the key liaison with retail and wholesale partners to ensure marketing programs come to life with our partners in mind.
Ability to negotiate with external vendors from online to the entertainment industries to create partnerships that will benefit our portfolio of brands.
Concept marketing ideas for our premium brands that will garner press and create excitement for brand with consumers and at retail. Understanding of public relations and social media related tactics a plus.
Work in partnership with the key priorities of the Brand Management team.
Manage licensee partner needs and retailer satisfaction.

Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
Minimum of 8-10 years of marketing experience
Experience working on Walmart brands and sports brands
Understanding of culture of brands and of sports industry
Strong digital and social media background
Previous development and execution of marketing plans, write marketing briefs and other strategic marketing documents (including seasonal goals, budgets, online opportunities, and promotions)
Understanding of sports (from amateur to professional) and a keen understanding of fitness lifestyle/ath-leisure
Pulse on pop culture, relevant leagues/teams/athletes, and influencers
Proactive worker, ability to foresee next steps in project management, asses and problem solve independently while working in a cross-functional environment
Awareness of marketing strategies for competitive brands and understands how to keep our brands competitive in the environment
