Tory Burch is seeking a Senior Director of Marketing and Communications for our new line of performance sportswear, Tory Sport. This individual will lead the brand strategy, seasonal messaging map, and marketing communications planning and execution for the new brand. The Senior Director of Marketing and Communications will lead a team that develops programs leveraging all channels of customer communications including advertising, digital messaging and marketing, social media, events, PR, and retail marketing. This leader will manage a small, fully dedicated team and also work with several other teams around the company to execute programs.


The successful candidate will have an expertise in marketing strategy in a retail environment but also an entrepreneurial, “roll-up-your sleeves” mentality given the early stage nature of this new brand.


Responsibilities:

  • Drive the brand strategy and positioning for Tory Sport
  • Lead the primary messaging strategy and calendar for Tory Sport in close partnership with the web team. This leader will bring a strong point of view on digital strategy, messaging and storytelling.
  • Lead the Marketing Communications and PR strategy development/execution for Tory Sport. With an entrepreneurial mindset, drive program planning, metrics/ targets, and execution roadmap.
  • Be the centerpoint and communicator of all Tory Sport marketing and communications projects. Work collaboratively and iteratively with senior leadership to gain alignment and finalize plans.
  • Drive digital and social marketing strategy and execution. Work with agency partners to build traffic modeling that gives a channel by channel pathway to customer acquisition, retention and revenue targets.
  • Drive social media and influencer strategies for the brand.
  • Partnering with the Global events team, oversee events and store openings from conception through flawless execution.
  • Build and execute PR plans and press days in close partnership with PR teams.
  • Build innovative partnerships and programs that build awareness for Tory Sport.
  • Build marketing plans and project list-- updating all on status of each project
  • Effectively leverage corporate/ shared services teams to drive project execution including creative, events, CRM, email, and PR teams.


    Required Skills

  • 12+ years of experience in retail and digital marketing with proven experience in both strategic planning and execution.
  • Significant leadership presence and experience developing and driving marketing plans.
  • A strong understanding of a range of marketing tactics including performance marketing, social media, retail marketing, partnerships, events, etc.
  • The ability to generate highly creative marketing ideas while possessing the analytical skills to understand ROI of efforts.
  • An enthusiasm for the Performance Sportswear category is essential; experience within the Sports/ Fitness category a plus
  • BA or equivalent; MBA preferred
