This role resides within global corporate alliances and business development, the group within Blizzard Entertainment that is responsible for establishing strategic third-party relationships for the company that drive growth through marketing partnerships, sponsorships, alliances, and other forms of partnership, including licensing of Blizzard content to distribution, broadcast, and streaming platforms. The manager, marketing partnerships will support this mission through the initiation, development and implementation of promotional programs and co-marketing initiatives for Blizzard’s game titles and events, including working with marketing, retail and development teams to create target partner lists for selected games and events and ensuring strategic fit of potential promotions.
Responsibilities
Develop a thorough list of target partner companies on defined titles that fit with the partnership strategy.
Drive outreach to new potential partners as well as creating packages to pitch existing accounts.
Develop and maintain relationships with potential promotional partners, becoming familiar with partners’ business and marketing opportunities.
Create and deliver best in class product and partnership presentations to target partners.
Negotiate terms for marketing partnerships, taking into account media exposure, creative execution, impressions, and potential fees.
Work with product marketing, consumer marketing, and development teams to create innovative and groundbreaking partnership promotions.
Evangelize partnership programs internally to all key stakeholders at Blizzard.
Work with cross functional teams including integrated marketing, legal, sales, international, and development as they relate to the partnership programs.
Facilitate partner communications across Blizzard departments to identify incremental opportunities for partners (i.e. events, field promotions, national publicity, online, etc.).
Develop, and maintain excellent working relationships throughout Blizzard Entertainment.
Requirements
A minimum of 6 years’ experience in promotions / co-marketing, preferably with entertainment, gaming, and / or CPG brands
Experience in promotional programs / co-marketing initiatives for major entertainment launches
Brand management experience on global brands
Relationships with major corporations and agencies
Able to evaluate and identify best-in-class partners
Experience in growing and expanding major pop-culture consumer brands through use of innovative / non-conventional partnership strategies
Knowledge of video game industry and successful gaming partnerships
Excellent oral and written communications skills including ability to create and give strong and compelling presentations
Strong negotiating and influencing skills
