The Strategic Marketing Manager of Events will participate in the development and execution of the marketing strategy for worldwide sponsorships & events. This position requires strong messaging and organizational skills, the ability to work in a team structure (across functional areas & geographic regions), and creativity.
Responsibilities:
Develop, drive strategy and create high-value messaging to drive business impact
Use strong working knowledge of data center products to create compelling demonstrations
Synthesize product and alliances to create a compelling end user story
Drive thought leadership and excellence in event marketing for Lenovo data center offerings through creation of impactful, all-encompassing event marketing experiences
Develop and drive strategy and execution of events to increase reach, awareness and shape positive perceptions
Work closely with Lenovo’s regional and global marketing peers to ensure the proper execution of tactics related to sponsorships and events
Lead and manage a virtual team with comprehensive responsibility for event marketing delivery, including project management, logistical and operational elements, digital components, site selection, social media, sponsorships, and demonstrations
Analyze event, industry and competitive data to drive strategic recommendations and improve effectiveness and efficiency of events
Drive an ROI strategy and framework to measure impact of our marketing investments
Create shared vision across multiple stakeholder teams and provide confident leadership to teams with recommended business outcomes
Project management including budget management, vendor sourcing and management
Bachelors degree required, MBA a plus
5-7 years experience developing strategy and messaging for trade show events
Previous experience in data center products (servers, storage and networking) required
Strategic project management experience and organizational skills including the ability to set and drive requirements across multiple functional areas
Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, verbal and written communication, problem solving and executive presentation skills are required
Outstanding cross-group collaboration
Experience managing global marketing programs
Ability to travel when required
