The Director of League Partnerships will manage relationships with and serve as the primary point of contact for League Partners’ lead/day-to-day consumer products licensing and retail representative(s). You will also help support/manage other key functional League relationships, communication and project management tied to UA partnership agreements.


You will ensure UA’s annual contractual obligations with League Partners (including contractually required deals with Member Clubs and affiliated Media Entities) are met, tracked and communicated working collaboratively across UA: Sports/Marketing Categories, Brand Marketing, Consumer Engagement, Product, Merchandising, Connected Fitness, Content, Legal, Finance and other relevant internal stakeholders.


In addition, you will also ensure UA receives its annual contractual product rights, marketing/media benefits and other asset deliverables that have been granted to the company as part of the League partnership deals.


What will you do?

  • Develop short and long term commercial goals, strategies and sell in plans for co-branded Major League sports licensed products (Apparel, Footwear, Accessories and Equipment) and other commercial/marketing rights that meet UA and League partners’ mutually agreed upon activation requirements and sales revenue goals including minimum guarantees.
  • Co-manage relationships with (Product) and actively support third party product manufacturing/distribution/sales partners (e.g., Gear For Sports) in marketplace with keen focus on driving maximum wholesale revenue across all key channels.
  • Identify, build direct relationships with and develop new and/or underdeveloped wholesale channels/accounts in marketplace (North America and International) including but not limited to online and brick and mortar controlled retail by Leagues and their member Clubs.
  • Drive UA cross-organization updates, development and GTM planning meetings with internal partners bringing a centralized and dedicated focus to maximize League product rights and brand/business building opportunities.
  • Align with and support internal Sports Marketing Brand Marketing category partners on clearly defined activation strategy and plans.
  • Provide League partners with ongoing/monthly status reports on business and activation activity, maintain project timelines and manage/support League approval process of UA plans, designs and materials.
  • Identify new, mutually beneficial brand and business building opportunities across the Pro Sports/League landscape.


    Required Skills

    What have you accomplished already?

  • BA required, MBA is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of relevant marketing experience in a fast-paced, product-oriented, consumer-driven company and previous leadership experience
  • Established relationships at all levels, inclusive of the executive level, in the global marketing industry.
  • Prior experience working for a global company with a strong, premium brand and a distinct culture, previous experience at a sports marketing company is a plus
  • Proven leadership skills in managing a strong, experienced and diverse team.
  • Experience conducting business and partnering with executives and staff in multiple regions globally, a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
