The Senior Events and Sponsorships Manager is responsible for activating the Cox brand locally through community events and sponsorship activities to improve the company’s image. This individual reports to the Dir, Field Marketing. The Events and Sponsorships Senior Manager oversees the performance of several Marketing Event Specialists.


Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Develops clear marketing strategies for region’s events and sponsorships, including identification of key partners and/or local brands to align with
  • Directs monitoring, analysis and reporting of event/sponsorship spend, including ROI modeling
  • Partners with local PR teams to develop and execute community events and sponsorship plans to improve brand perception
  • Leads negotiation of event/sponsorship contracts with involvement and direction of Region VPs and legal
  • Provides leadership in the planning, design and implementation of collaborated event/sponsorship efforts with Cox Business, Cox Media and Public Affairs maximizing synergies between residential and business-to-business growth and brand awareness objectives of each business unit
  • Monitors channel partner execution against negotiated objectives of each event/sponsorship agreement to gauge effectiveness and efficiency of investment
  • Manages team of remote employees (Marketing Specialist) in key geographic locations to ensure adequate coverage across entire region
  • Hires, monitors and manages all third party event activation teams needed to successfully execute region events and sponsorships.
  • Collaborates with product operations to secure network partner support for local initiatives
  • Works closely with channel support team to ensure events/sponsorship activation compliments BAU campaign efforts and aligns with capacity planning
  • Provides supervisory management and career development of the events & sponsorships team
  • Ability to manage a virtual team


    Required Skills

  • 7+ years of experience required in related field (i.e. Marketing Sales, Sales Operations, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree
  • Strong experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Proven success working in a highly competitive business environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate at a senior level
  • Strong presentation and analytical skills, plus demonstrated skills handling variety of assignments simultaneously
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Preferred
  • BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (i.e. Marketing, Business, etc.)
  • 3+years of experience in a management role preferred

  • Experience in telecommunications industry desired
