Clif Bar & Company is looking for a DIRECTOR OF SPORTS MARKETING to join our Marketing Team.

The Director of Sports Marketing drives the development of a global Sports Marketing strategy to build our brands and business in the short and long term. The Director of Sports Marketing leads a team in execution of the strategy, and works cross-functionally to activate Sports Marketing throughout the integrated marketing mix. Through the development of innovative and authentic experiential marketing plans, and a deep understanding of the athlete experience, this position will build CLIF’s sports and adventure equity, with core sport athletes and beyond.
Primary Responsibilities
Champion a long-term, global Sports Marketing strategy
Maintain a deep understanding of the athlete mindset and their evolving functional and emotional drivers
Drive the vision for Clif’s expansion to new sports audiences via Sports Marketing, globally
Develop Sports Marketing elements of the Integrated Marketing Plan, and serve as a key contributor to overall Integrated Marketing plan ideation
Lead a team in the development of annual Sports Marketing plans and budgets
Develop and execute a large Athlete/Event/Property sponsorship model
Conceptualize and lead the production of CLIF-owned event(s)
Serve as the voice of sports authenticity across all sports-related company initiatives

Technical Expertise Required
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Education/Training Required
Bachelor’s degree required and 10 years’ experience that includes sports marketing and experiential program management
Travel Required
10% travel to Trade Shows, Sports industry conferences, sponsored events, photoshoots, and like events
