Reporting to the Director of Sports Marketing, The Sports Marketing Manager – Running (Events) is responsible for the strategic selection, leveraging and execution of sponsored running discipline events, and the concepting, development and execution of ASICS owned events in the running space. This is a role that requires collaboration across internal and external partner groups, exceptional organization skills, and attention to detail in execution.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees concepting, negotiation, development, and production of running events for the United States and serves as a peer leader in informing running events for the full Americas region (inclusive of Brazil, Canada and Mexico)
  • Evaluates partnership and sponsorship opportunities and makes recommendations regarding levels of investment
  • Develops and presents annual strategic plans and ensures the plans are aligned with business initiatives within the region (AAG) and globally (AHQ)
  • Collaborates and partners with the Sports Marketing Manager – Running (athletes and ambassadors) to co-own the running vertical in Sports Marketing
  • Oversees regional annual running promotions budget in partnership with the Sports Marketing Manager – Running (athletes and ambassadors)
  • Tracks and regularly reports ROI for sponsorships and events

  • Travel up to 50%

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, business or related field
  • Minimum 6 years experience in event marketing
  • Athletic enthusiast background and sporting goods industry experience
  • Excellent written, organizational, communication and analytical skills
  • Detailed oriented and deadline focused
  • Personal computer skills with a working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes. Photoshop, SAP and PowerPoint are helpful.
