The Project Manager is responsible for the coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of projects related to corporate sponsorships and events with the goal of ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. The Project Manager will manage both corporate and department-level projects with the goal of delivering every project on time, within budget and within scope.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the coordination, implementation and reporting for all external community-related activities including, event logistics, executive involvement, volunteer recruitment, vendor management and final results summary, in an effort to achieve Flagstar’s business unit and corporate goals.
  • Coordinate PR activities associated with sponsorships and events.
  • Coordination and management of other projects as assigned.
  • Facilitate communication with key stakeholders to ensure the proper execution of project plans.
  • Assist in coordination of HR related and volunteer activities, including myflagstar employee event discounts; managing the entire Jean Day Program, including selection, communications and funds disbursements; and employee ticket giveaways and employee events.
  • Coordinates creative and contracts with internal departments (Procurement, Legal, Compliance, Facilities, and Insurance) to ensure that all events comply with safety, legal, and compliance regulations in a timely manner.
  • Provide reporting on the results summary for events to ensure that events are meeting agreed upon goals.
  • Administrative duties including routing creative and contracts with internal departments, processing invoices and check requests, reconciling the branded merchandise invoices. Fields and responds appropriately to internal and external requests from multiple community organizations, event organizers, and event-related vendors on behalf of Flagstar.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Completes all required compliance training. Maintains knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar’s internal compliance policies and procedures. Takes responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.


    Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of direct work experience with all aspects of project development and execution.
  • 2+ years of experience coordinating all aspects of corporate events and sponsorships.
  • Understanding of the bank’s compliance and business structure is preferred.
  • Prior call center and/or mortgage/retail banking experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate project goals and statuses to all levels of management verbally and in writing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to adapt to new demands and challenges.
  • Must have sense of urgency, dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of both internal and external customers.
  • Must be team-oriented and highly organized.
  • Proven excellence in written and oral communications.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management and other departments.
