Position Purpose:

The Sponsorship Sales Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing and maintaining strategic relationships with new and existing lifestyle category corporate sponsors, to sell all Barrett-Jackson-related assets.  These assets include, but are not limited to naming rights, branding, digital media and content sponsorship, experiential marketing, exhibit space, corporate hospitality, ticket packages and special events.  The Corporate Partnerships position will develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve sales goals as directed by the Vice President of Sales.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Focus solely on lifestyle brands in categories including, but not limited to, fashion, travel, entertainment, real estate and non-automotive consumer goods and consumer retail
  • Deep working knowledge of the sales process and a strong general sales acumen, as well as superior relationship development and account management skills
  • Understand and excel at sponsorship sales and opportunities
  • Continually develop new prospects to build and manage a sustained, multi-million dollar pipeline of opportunities
  • Formulate business relationships and new clients through cold calling, referrals, networking and site visits
  • Coordinate and executive the development, delivery and presentation of proposals.
  • Focus on developing and maintaining strong relationships with important decision makers at client marketing companies and their respective advertising agencies in a variety of lifestyle business categories
  • Understand the marketing objectives of clients and their agencies, and determining how Barrett-Jackson can help them achieve their goals. 
  • Foster client relationships to create a mutually beneficial partnership and generate additional revenue
  • Manage the partnership renewal process in tandem with the activation team and the Vice President of Sales
  • Document and track sales process through CRM maintaining extremely organized notes
  • Monitor marketplace, including local and national sports and entertainment properties
  • Work closely with other departments and the activation team to look for additional revenue opportunities for potential and current clients
  • Ensure efficient and smooth contracting process across all stakeholders
  • Work as sales team member in assisting as additional requests arise both in office and onsite at auctions

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Broadcast, Sales, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5+ years sponsorship sales experience and track record of proven success with lifestyle brands
  • 3+ years of experience in developing marketing and promotional programs
  • Strong ability to secure new clients and maintain relationships; source and develop new leads
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated client and advertising agency knowledge and relationships preferred
  • Ability to travel to auctions and sales meetings required.
  • An extensive background in event management is required. 
  • Position requires excellent negotiation, communication, and time management skills.
