Reporting to the Senior Director of Entertainment Marketing (EM), the Senior Associate will support the organization by helping to manage the development and implementation of the EM department’s strategic objectives for engaging celebrities, influencers and entertainment partnerships to advance the U.S. Fund for UNICEF’s mission. The Senior Associate is familiar with USF’s goals and objectives to educate, advocate and fundraise and has extensive knowledge of the entertainment industry, highly proficient with talent outreach, working with talent management, handling high volume of projects, competency in communicating with senior staff, excellent written and oral presentation skills, coordinating logistics, arranging travel itineraries, and conducting research.
Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):
Work with the Senior Director to help manage relationships and liaise with entertainment industry executives, agents, managers and publicists
Assist in managing day-to-day relationships with UNICEF Ambassadors, UNICEF Supporters and other high profile talent
Help develop, execute and manage USF special events, campaigns, corporate and civil society partnerships to support education, advocacy and fundraising objectives
Assist in the creation, development and execution of strategies, proposals and presentations for the entertainment industry, entertainment companies and celebrity participation
Write impact reports and evaluations of Ambassador and celebrity supporter activities
Assist in vetting internal and external celebrity requests such as media interviews, fundraising opportunities, etc.
Coordinate with various departments across the organization to align efforts where celebrity-related activities are private or public-facing and provide guidance on shaping the strategic use of celebrities to support USF activities
Lead logistics, travel and other details related to celebrity engagement activities, including preparing important materials such as briefing packets, schedules/itineraries, run-of-shows, talking points, and social media guides
Work with Senior Director to manage and adhere to department budget, individual large-scale project budgets, and negotiating costs and contracts with vendors
Additional creative writing pertaining to informing constituents and the entertainment community about celebrity activities for USF
Other ad-hoc projects as requested including, but not limited to, light administrative tasks such as expense reports, scheduling, preparing agendas, processing invoices and donor contribution forms, etc.
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3-4 years’ related experience
Experience working in talent/entertainment and/or sports industry a plus
Strong organizational and management skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
Ability to interface with multiple vendors
Must have an understanding of fundraising and a knowledge of how “celebrity” and events can be used for fundraising purposes
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with great attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, manage multiple projects and tasks, support a variety of departments, and manage expectations and deadlines
Must demonstrate high level of diplomacy, sound judgment, and discretion when dealing with celebrity/entertainment professionals and situations
Ability to problem-solve and handle difficult/sensitive situations in a timely and appropriate manner
Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes some weekend and evening commitments, as well as business related travel (nationally and possibly internationally)
