Purpose
To lead and develop basketball sports marketing for key cities globally, and ensure athletic insights and on-court presence in order to create adidas brand visibility.
Key Accountabilities
Lead short and long term strategic planning of adidas Global Grassroots Basketball
platforms, primarily Key Cities programming & street level category integration.
Identify, manage and develop team of external resources/partners to facilitate premium initiatives within targeted metro regions: namely NYC, LA, Shanghai, Paris
Ensure that category assets integrate into the overall brand, marketing and activation plans.
Work as key interface of grassroots/key cities for internal groups including product, team sales and brand marketing.
Act as adidas representative to the public at competitions, consumer events and activations, ensuring proper footwear and apparel usage.
Leverage partners to help drive retail activity and sell-through where possible.
Participate and implement integrated marketing by leading the execution of events, advertising, player marketing programs and athlete appearances that create an adidas buzz that lasts the entire year. Develop localized Brand and athlete marketing opportunities and create a stronger presence in assigned region by executing a “Ground Up” attack.
Collaborate with Apparel & Footwear Marketing and Athlete Services to develop custom or SMU gear and shoes for leagues and team partners.
Work with each discipline Senior Director on holistic planning to ensure alignment
Responsible for communication plans to inform all stakeholders
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to build and maintain key scene, industry and influencer relationships
Ability to network, influence and utilize internal and external resources
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and expertise in all social media platforms equally
Extensive knowledge of assigned category and the sporting goods industry in general
Excellent presentation and communication skills SAP skills/knowledge preferred
Qualifications
Four year degree in Marketing, Communications or related field Five
(5) years sports marketing or related experience, category specific preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree.
