Sports marketing is a critical component of the Samsung marketing mix. It provides a unique outlet to drive cultural relevance and engagement, brand loyalty and retention among owners, and consideration and acquisition among prospects.


The Senior Manager of Sports Marketing is a member of the US marketing team, reporting to the Head of Partnership Development and Sports Marketing. He/She is responsible for managing all US sports marketing efforts from strategy through execution. He/She works with direct support from a mix of internal and agency resources. In addition, he/she works collaboratively with various functional groups within Samsung.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as a steward for the sports marketing strategy which supports the broader Samsung partnership marketing strategy, brand strategy and business objectives
  • Oversee development and execution of holistic sports marketing activations, working with a cross-functional team of external sports partners, Samsung employees and agency partners
  • Manage measurement and insights related to sports marketing efforts
  • Develop and manage relationships with sports partners, including properties, media and talent
  • Continuously optimize sports partnership mix and activation approach to ensure alignment against the strategy and optimization of resources
  • Support sports partnership development, negotiation and contract process


    Required Skills

    Required Experience

  • 12+ years sports marketing experience; brand side experience and Olympics experience a plus
  • Deep knowledge of sports marketing industry
  • Relationships at senior levels within the sports marketing industry
  • Experience crafting, negotiating and executing large, multi-dimensional partnerships
  • Experience with and knowledge of intellectual property rights and content distribution rights
