The Community Engagement and Partnerships Manager for Hyundai Motor America (HMA) will work to create a positive image and reputation for the Hyundai brand in the U.S. Will develop strategies and execute tactics to support the Corporate Social Responsibility priorities of the company. The primary responsibility for the role is to manage community engagement and constituent relationships for HMA. This role will also proactively identify meaningful opportunities to promote Hyundai’s positive image in local communities.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement ideas to promote HMA’s commitment to social responsibility (CSR) with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist the Director in development of HMA CSR strategies and tactics in alignment with Hyundai’s global CSR initiatives.
  • Lead project management role for CSR programs from concept, design, implementation and completion.
  • Manage CSR related event logistics, vendor contract negotiations, and executive participation, as necessary. This includes managing vendor project tasks, on-site event reviews and verifying budget compliance.
  • Manage CSR Public Relations, Event Management, and Digital Media agency partner activities to ensure consistent alignment with Hyundai brand.
  • Create a social media strategy to build interest in HMA CSR activities and manage content on HMA CSR website.
  • Work with media relations, opinion leaders, and consumers on CSR activities.
  • Identify opportunities for Executives to serve on boards and to increase exposure of Hyundai leadership with key markets.
  • Develop press releases, speeches, key message points, and scripts for all CSR initiatives/programs.
  • Develop on-going philanthropic giving and volunteerism opportunities for both National and Regional HMA employees.
  • Support HMA regions to assist dealers’ integration in HMA CSR activities.
  • Work closely with other Hyundai US companies to align CSR activities and maximize program spending.
  • Establish framework for a well-defined contribution program.
  • Assist in creation of an annual HMA CSR report.
  • Assist in responding to HMC headquarters, as required.
  • Manage community relations budget requests and secure necessary executive approval.
  • Assist in the development of CSR annual business plan and present on-going progress reports to executive management.
  • Create strong relationships and rapport with local government officials and community leaders.
  • Work with other HMA departments to understand and engage in Hyundai’s CSR activities.


    Authority:

  • Develop program and events to increase positive reputation of HMA.
  • Responsible for vendor contract development and project management to meet business goals.
  • Provides CSR strategy presentations and wrap up reports for Executive Management.
  • Writes key talking points, press releases and gives speeches as required for CSR events.
  • Creates CSR engagement opportunities for HMA employees, and communicates HMA activities with Hyundai US affiliates.


    Required Skills

    Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with concentration in Marketing, CSR, or Business.
  • Master’s degree a plus


    Related Experience:

  • Six to seven years of relevant work experience.
  • Event management, project management and budget process experience is required.
  • Experience in working with non-profit and NGO organizations.
  • Automotive experience a plus.


    Skill / Knowledge:

  • Highly creative and self-starter.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SAP.
  • Good organizational and team leadership skills.
  • Effective written and public communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective interpersonal, writing and presentation skills.
  • Must possess problem-solving capabilities.
  • High work load capacity.
  • Knowledge of social media and ability to discern the different channels.
  • Skills in Public Relations, public speaking and script writing.


    Physical Requirements:

  • Normal office duties.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%
