The manager of Local Marketing & Events is responsible for developing comprehensive event and localized marketing programs that enhance the brand and drive multi-channel sales and traffic. The role will focus on creating and executing high profile campaigns, product launches, national and local events, and partnerships that drive brand loyalty and support key growth initiatives. Candidate will lead cross-functional teams and leverage internal and external marketing channels to bring projects to life.
Develop Strategic Event Marketing Plans
Consult with internal business partners to prioritize marketing activations based on alignment with company growth initiatives.
Present internal business partners with strategic event solutions to address business needs.
Create marketing briefs (including situation/overview, consumer mindset/local marketing analytics, business/marketing objectives, creative coordination/direction, vehicles to consider, target audience)
Recap and report marketing ROI post activation to drive optimized business decisions
Project leader for event marketing plans. Manage timelines and deliverables to ensure marketing plans are executed flawlessly.
Responsible for engaging cross functional partners to ensure seamless horizontal integration of the plan. Cross functional partners include: legal, communications/PR, external agencies, creative, media, business leaders, merchants, vendors and store operations
Build/Plan marketing plan against the allocated budget (heavy work with procurement and legal on securing bids and contracts). Develop SOWs and work with procurement to execute (RFP, RFQ).
Responsible for managing individual marketing budget related to specific events as well as team owner of budget process, invoicing and iprocurement systems.
Represent the Best Buy Brand (face of Best Buy to executives, celebrities, consumers, vendors, agencies)
Execute Event Marketing Plans
May oversee the performance and hiring of a Specialist that supports events marketing processes.
Creates a team oriented environment that fosters employee development in their event marketing career.
Oversee several third-party vendors. Activities include contract reviews, monthly status reviews, invoice/budgeting and ensuring event marketing success.

8 + years of Progressive Marketing or related experience
4+ years of People or resource leadership
2+ years of National brand experience
5+ years of Retail experience (preferred)
