Sports sponsorships is playing an ever increasing role as a key marketing communications vehicle to drive our T-Mobile brand and business growth. Build on the relationships T-Mobile has developed with key partners in the industry as well as drive growth in new investment platforms. This team has experienced significant year over year growth and continued recognition by company leaders for delivering results and capitalizing on every opportunity. Through sports marketing, we reach consumers with the Un-carrier message in contextually relevant ways, create talked about moments for the brand, deliver meaningful value to our T-Mobile customers, and extend our reach and impact locally. This role has accountability to senior leadership, with a need to deliver strategic and impactful mass reach platforms and partnerships.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic oversight of the T-Mobile sports sponsorship portfolio including: portfolio strategy, contract negotiations, marcom strategy & execution.
Lead a team of direct reports and agency partners in the strategic development and execution of all major T-Mobile sports sponsorships, including but not limited to Major League Baseball and related properties, eSports, and athlete partnerships.
Lead cross-functional support teams in the implementation and execution of our sports sponsorship platforms.
Closely manage agency relationships building the strategy partnership platform, increasing the level of engagement while maximizing our investment.
Develop and track KPI results for each sports platform while assisting other areas of the organization with the evaluation, negotiation, and execution of sports related opportunities.
Drive portfolio development penetrating new business opportunities and growing established partnerships.
Prepare and present strategies to senior and c-level leadership.
Partner closely with mid-level and senior level leadership across the organization including marketing, sales & operations, network engineering, corporate communications, legal, etc.
Deliver cost savings through efficient sponsorship contract negotiations.
Set team goals and provide oversight and accountability for sports marketing resources including large budget stewardship.
Qualifications
Strategic and creative thought leader with a minimum of 10 years experience creating high profile, talked about sport sponsorship platforms for big brands
Proven ability to create and effectively communicate marketing strategies designed to deliver against key business goals
Experience building and leading large cross-functional teams comprised of internal and external partners
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business related field
Depth of experience working with senior and c-level leadership
Strong understanding of agency relationship management or prior agency experience
Proven experience driving major sponsorship negotiations
