The Entertainment Marketing Manager provides a key role in Upper Deck's communication with distributors, hobby store owners and end-consumers through a variety of marketing channels including social media, message boards, industry publications, gaming sites, hobby programs, solicitations and OP. The position will help create and manage various co-op programs, product advertisements, solicitation, editorial, web banners, social content,product previews and sales promotions.
In addition to marketing duties, the Entertainment Marketing Manager will have specific OP responsibilities that include helping to execute and oversee OP events throughout the year, including event set up, signage, logistics, accommodations, event promotion via social channels and recruitment of volunteers and judges.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Create and execute marketing plan and strategy for entertainment releases and OP
Build the social media community for Upper Deck's entertainment and gaming properties and events.
Manage entertainment marketing campaigns including ads, editorial, banners and promo items.
Work with distributors and hobby shops on creation and execution of co-op programs.
Provide fresh content and images on website, social pages and other accounts on a regular basis.
Work with entertainment team to develop and manage store-level OP programs and promotions.
Keep up to date on current social media and marketing trends.
Work with design and pre-press on creative materials such as solicitations, catalogs and eblasts.
Provide up to date product information and images to press, distributors and hobby community.
Attend entertainment events and organize local store visits whenever possible.
Work with purchasing on entertainment related marketing and OP items.
Promote OP events and programs through all available channels.
Develop a volunteer staff for OP related events and demos at events across North America.
Oversee the creation, assembly and distribution of OP Kits to distributors and shops.
Act as an event judge as needed.
Monitor relevant boards and discussion forums.
3+ years professional entertainment and/or gaming industry experience. Social Media expertise. Experience writing press releases and editorial content. Experience with gaming and /or entertainment products. Organized Play knowledge and experience.
KNOWLEDGE:
Strong knowledge of pop culture, including comic, movie, television and gaming
Experience with social media channels and message boards
Excellent communication skills
Ability to provide and accept feedback and maintain positive relationships with Upper Deck consumers
Ability to travel, and assist OP staff with travel as needed
Ability to handle both positive and negative customer feedback in person
Trading card and/or gaming experience preferred
Create, problem solver and ability to make on the spot decisions a must
