Twitter represents the essential social platform for athletes to connect with their fans, tell their own stories, and stay viable in the industry after their playing days are over.
Our Content Partnerships team is looking for an ambitious, creative, passionate and resourceful individual to join us in bringing top tier sports talent to the platform and developing strategies and best practices.
The ideal candidate should have a strong vision for the broad potential of sports talent on Twitter, while offering scalable impact and immediate, tactical opportunities in the industry that result in value and growth for Twitter and our sports partners. You’ll need direct & established relationships with traditional players (agents, managers, publicists, social media managers, etc.), superb talent and partner management skills, and an aptitude for driving innovation.
Most of all, you need to a genuine passion for Twitter as a platform for influencers, its unique position in the media industry, and its opportunity to positively impact our user experience.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Deepen Twitter's creative and business relationships with high-profile sports talent and their representatives (agents, managers, publicists, social media managers, etc), which includes:
Onboarding new sports talent (athletes, broadcasters, etc.) onto Twitter
Evangelizing best practices and safety products, pushing the creative envelope and incorporating Twitter deeply into their connection with fans and their business
Quantifying growth and success of Talent partners through metrics and analytics
Serving as a creative consultant to develop, test and execute innovative content plays year round on Twitter
Coordinate with relevant internal teams ranging from sales to marketing / comms to product to legal to user services on joint efforts, partner communications and support -- serving as the primary point of contact for sports talent and related partners
Success is measured by:
Increase in the penetration of sports talent on Twitter
Increase in total number and quality (engagement) of Tweets from talent
Depth of collaboration with sports agencies and management companies
Strength of Twitter’s relationships with talent
The comprehensiveness, quality and availability of talent product feedback on product
In collaboration with analytics teams, increase of quality and usefulness of insights into what drives quality talent content
Requirements
Deep knowledge of the sports landscape across multiple sports, including significant and direct experience working with sports talent. 5-7 years experience preferred
Direct experience in driving digital and social media adoption, especially Twitter
Demonstrated history of social media usage and genuine appreciation of Twitter's role in the broader media world
Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, in person and in writing, to many different audiences, ranging from executives to athletes––you are an evangelist at heart
Comfort and experience conducting data-driven goal setting and analyses to drive your decision-making
Track record of working collaboratively and collegially across team; proven ability to make things happen outside span of direct control
Mastery of PowerPoint, Keynote, Excel, and other tools of business
