This role will develop marketing strategies and execute Buffalo Wild Wings’ sports, NCAA, IMG and Learfield as well as other sports vendor partnership programs/promotions. This position will work closely with internal and external partners to strategically develop and execute co-branded marketing programs/promotions that provide benefit to the entire BWW system. This role is highly collaborative with internal teams to ensure we are driving results from the partnerships and enhancing communications techniques through further touch points with our partners’ audiences.


CORE JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop system wide marketing strategy and manage its execution of Buffalo Wild Wings’ sports programs/partnerships (e.g. IMG/Learfield sports sponsorships, NCAA) including but not limited to on-location and restaurant activations, TV/radio/digital/social advertising, and in-restaurant POP.
  • Lead agency relationship for activations, provide briefs to deliver on business needs through our sports partnerships. Collaborate with internal (e.g. brand, media, PR, social, etc.) team to ensure partnerships ladder up to the marketing and communication strategy.
  • Develop a strategy and plan for local usage of sponsorship assets (i.e. NCAA) and partner with BWW local teams to ensure proper execution.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for external sports partners.
  • Develop and execute a communication strategy for radio partner assets.
  • Manages and directs sports marketing partnership/promotions agencies.
  • Manages the development and activation of an onsite activation experience in partnership with promotions agency.
  • Drive creative development to support various sports partnership programs.
  • Manage NCAA, IMG and Learfield approval process.
  • Route promotions and communications through appropriate internal channels (i.e. legal, branding, etc.) and obtain approval as needed.
  • Assess vendor partner assets and lead strategy and program/promotion development to leverage those assets.
  • Assess, leverage and utilize BWW assets to mutually benefit BWW and the partner company.
  • Manage a database of regional sponsorships.
  • Evaluate and manage internal requests for partner asset usage.
  • Work with the Insights Team to obtain market specific information, competitor information, and performance metrics to continuously innovate/improve sports partnership programs/promotions.
  • Manage project progress to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Manage a multi-million dollar sponsorship and activations budget.
  • Participate in communications planning, information distribution and status reporting.
  • Flexible and open to changing priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within compressed timeframes.


    Required Skills

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field
  • 8+ years of Marketing, Advertising, and/or Communications work experience/ equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience working with digital and social media marketing
  • 3-5 years of experience developing content for marketing vehicles
  • 3+ years of experience working on brand voice management for a company
  • Demonstrates a high degree of organizational skills
  • Min 2 years of experience writing copy
  • Min 2 years of experience working in a Corporate environment
