The primary responsibilities of the Athlete Team Coordinator are bringing to life the strategies associated with our team athletes, owned and sponsored events, partner relationships and programs in authentic, inspiring and experiential ways. The Athlete Team Coordinator will establish and maintain standards and procedures to assure accurate brand messaging and return on investments are being met. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

BR>Athletes: Assists in the management and scouting of athletes for The North Face Global and National Team Program based on corporate business objectives within each sporting category. Works closely throughout the year with each athlete to ensure career performance is maximized and is relevant to the overall strategic plan set specifically for them and their talents by their manager. Manages and monitors athlete working days and budgets against pre-negotiated contract to assure time and finances spent are within the contractual limits. Coordinates athlete appearances for The North Face retail stores and authorized dealers, outdoor industry organizations, and other groups as needed and arranges the logistics, budgets and collateral required. Approves athlete travel and processes expense reports and incentive payments based upon travel and earned media. Updates athlete bios on TNF.com, initiates athlete poster production and helps monitor and leverage athlete social media activity. Manages content on the athlete extranet website to assure it is current and useful to all members. Events: Manages all activation tactics and staff at each event owned and sponsored by The North Face. Maintains annual event calendar to assure the proper staffing and activation tools are planned and executed. Develops and implements systems that will assure efficiencies are being realize in the coordination of all event activations. Orders, maintains, ships and coordinates with partners the hard and soft goods needed for all event footprints. Recruits TNF Team Athletes, TECH and PAC reps to attend events as needed. Works with internal and external partners to assure quality retail, wholesale and e-commerce traffic driving tactics are imbedded in each event. Ensures that all film and film tour partner contract terms are executed in a timely manner related to: payment, product orders, in-kind exchanges and agreed upon participation at the event itself. Reports out to all stake-holders the successes of tactics after each event relative to traffic, sales, consumer response, competitive landscape, budget and ROI relative to goals.

BR>Product: Assists with the ordering and distribution of sample and initiative product for each Global and National Athlete. Provides guidance on product to each Athlete Team members and communicates the various vehicles for product feedback (i.e. athlete extranet, product testing trips, etc). Works with internal partners to assure the right initiative product is ordered and shipped to athletes as needed for video and photo shoots, media interviews, expeditions, appearances, competitions, etc. Maintains sample room to assure maximum security and minimum waste.

BR>Finance: Works with Sports Marketing Manager to regularly manage and update the ACCESS financial tracking system in order to monitor real-time spending and assure all expenditures are aligned with budgets. Works with Sports Marketing Director in reporting out on monthly impressions and ROI relative to program expenditures. Assists in the projection of the upcoming budget year based upon current year learnings. Continually refines our athlete, sponsorship and partner investments so we are tracking and maximizing our ROI.

BR>Stock and Flow Expeditions: Bi-annually reviews and rates flow proposals based upon set criteria. Collaborates with Sports Marketing Manager and other relevant internal stake holders to assure expedition budgets, photographers, trip itineraries, post trip summaries, on-line blogs, media and PR coverage is set and maximized in accordance with the annual strategic plan and GTM initiatives.

BR>Corporate Initiative Task Forces: Works closely with Sports Marketing Manager on participation in selective task force meetings and assists in the progression of each initiative as needed; note taking, calendar maintenance, follow up on owner deliverables, communication of task force progress to all relevant internal and external partners.


Required Skills

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • 4 years of related professional experience. Experience in event planning and organization.
  • BA/BS in Marketing, Communications, Business, Sports Marketing, or related field or equivalent years of education and experience.
  • Computer/Software Applications: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and
  • PowerPoint required. Photoshop is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Solid organization skills.
  • Strong time management.
  • Ability to problem solve and work through problems are needed.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work efficiently in a deadline-oriented environment.
