Provide national and regional focused support for the baseball sports marketing department toward the achievement of marketing and business objectives. Support the baseball sports marketing effort in developing and maintaining properties which establish category authenticity and which embody the New Balance brand.


MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Strategic Planning


    Develop regional business plans to ensure NB Baseball develops a leadership position at the Major League, NCAA, and Elite grass roots level of play. Provide input to the Senior Sports Marketing Manager for Baseball, in the development and execution of the annual baseball sports marketing plan that defines strategy for Baseball/Team footwear and apparel, and other product categories that strategically align with our brand and business objectives. Help define the vision and execution of the global sports marketing strategy for New Balance Baseball. Plan to include all elements of sport from the elite (MLB) level to grassroots. Always look for new opportunities.

  • Grass Roots


    Assist with planning for grassroots baseball sports marketing efforts to include Area Code Game properties (Area Code Games, Area Code Underclassman Games) and Program 15/Future Stars Series. Support daily aspects of these premiere grass roots events. Duties to include product assortment/forecasting/ordering (events and retail), event set up and activation, and planning. Also assist NB Baseball’s efforts on Elite club baseball business by establishing relationships for NB in the Northeast region around this segment of the baseball business. Develop official relationship with top programs in the region, aligning NB baseball footwear, apparel, and accessories with their teams in alignment with the DTT sales staff.

  • MLB Player Servicing & New York Mets Partnership


    Support the Senior Sports Marketing Manager with MLB player servicing and ordering of our contracted athletes/teams in the within the region. Lead the day to day partnership with the New York Mets to include budget management, ordering, and player servicing. “Win New York” – create the opportunity to connect and leverage our regional assets for market place/commercial success – this would include NYM/Players/NYRR/US Open Players, etc. Collectively leverage regional assets in the regional marketplace. Build strong relationships with Marketing and Retail in the region to achieve the above goals.

  • Asset Management, Networking / Influencing


    Develop strong relationships that drive marketing strategies and objectives with athletes, teams, and federations. Work with Senior Sports Marketing Manager for Baseball on the management of the sports marketing budget ensuring accurate monthly allocations and accountability. Work closely with sports marketing GM and Senior Sports Marketing Manager on the management of relevant sports marketing topics and leverage global sports marketing assets within the global marketplace.

  • Spring Training


    Work together with the Senior Sports Marketing Manager for Baseball to assist in servicing Spring Training each year. Assist with the product ordering, shipments, vehicle rentals/wraps, hotel bookings, and travel schedule.

  • Integrated Marketing


    Work closely with other functions and business units on both strategy and execution of the sports marketing plan. Support the successful integration of our athletes and teams within footwear and apparel strategies. Ensure all efforts are linked to Field of Play priorities and category/country/regional plans.


    Required Skills

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience required with a minimum of 5-7 years’ of directly related work experience in Sports Marketing environment.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and sales database or customer relationship management systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and oral) will be required to be able to present to a wide variety of customers and management.
  • Solid negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to build strong, lasting relationships.
  • Team player. Ability to work within a team unit and inspire people.
  • Strong strategic thinker; must have expert knowledge of Baseball sport landscape.
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.
  • Work irregular hours, including some weekends, and ability to travel domestically 25% of time.
