The Sponsorships and Events team is chartered with bringing the T-Mobile brand story to life through live experiences at the national and local level including strategic development, planning, and execution of brand sponsorships and events. An increasing area of strategic focus and opportunity for T-Mobile is utilizing local sponsorship and experiential marketing efforts to quickly elevate the brand in new and growth opportunity markets, drive incremental door swings and sales across priority markets, and support our mobile retail experience fleet to maximize program impact.


We are seeking a Senior Manager to partner in the creation of and lead the local and experiential marketing team, reporting to the Vice President of Sponsorships and Events. The individual should have a passion for creating impactful brand experiences to engage consumers, extensive knowledge in strategy development and sponsorship negotiations, and a fundamental understanding of how to operationalize a team in support of local and experiential efforts. The role will lead the local and experiential team in strategic planning and development; execution, communication, and measurement of local sponsorship and experiential efforts in support of T-Mobile’s local brand and business strategy. In addition to leading a team of direct reports and agency partners, the role will work closely with key cross-functional partners and leaders in marketing and sales/operations both at headquarters and in the field, and could oversee management of key local sponsorship investments.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner in the creation and building of a local and experiential marketing team
  • Develop a local experiential marketing strategy
  • Lead a team of (3) direct reports in the execution of experiential strategy, and support of the mobile retail experience team in planning and execution of program
  • Provide leadership and support in local market sponsorship negotiations
  • Establish and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare and present strategies and programs to senior leadership
  • Establish key performance indicators, measure, and deliver results
  • Oversee a local experiential marketing budget

    YOUR QUALIFICATIONS


  • Proven leadership of cross-functional teams, agencies partners, and sponsor relationships for or on behalf of a big brand
  • Depth of experience in localized sponsorship, experiential, and mobile unit marketing programs
  • Proven ability to deliver clear and concise marketing strategies and briefs to all organizational levels
  • Strong operational and planning skills
  • Prior experience leading or involvement in sponsorship negotiations
  • Ability to think and respond quickly and calmly in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, able to consistently meet deadlines; strong interpersonal skills, willingness to accept and provide direction, ability to work independently while remaining a team player


    Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field
  • Minimum of 7-10 years experience in sponsorship or experiential marketing
  • Prior experience doing local marketing for a national brand and/or telecom experience a plus
  • Must be able to attend key meetings and events, possibly including holidays and/or in excess of 40 hours per week, travel up to 15% per year
