The Manager of US Marketing Events is responsible for the creation, direction, and execution of product launch events, retailer events and special branded partnerships in the US market and across all channels/doors of distribution.


Principal Accountabilities


  • US Events Strategy
  • Create and lead the US Market Event Strategy in the retail environment across all channels of distribution.
  • Collaborate with global PR team to execute the global event theme/idea in the US retail environment to ensure consistent consumer experiences across all event touchpoints
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with the following departments to ensure success of event programs and a holistic 360 campaign across all consumer touchpoints; PR, Creative, Marketing, Sales, Education, Media, social and Retail/channel leadership.
  • Study external environment and report regularly on best in class event examples both within and outside of the industry.


    US Events Execution

  • Educate field teams on the event objectives, purpose and goals.
  • Set expectations with Retail Sales Teams and coach on executing special events.
  • Continuously analyze all program effectiveness.
  • Communicate performance expectations, results, and successful field strategies to both corporate and regional team members on a consistent basis.
  • Gain alignment from all retail & channel partners on event strategy, idea, and support/GWP material
  • Design event materials and tools (Event in a box) that reinforce brand equity and promote an extraordinary client experience including but not limited to client recruitment and point of sale consultation tools.
  • Work with internal creative services to design all event material and gain alignment on final executions from Retail/channel partners and Senior Management.
  • Manage events budget for product launches
  • Track all event material timelines, cost of goods and channel/retailer forecasts.
  • Ensure all event material ships out to the required locations on time
  • Define and track sales goals by event. Ensure all doors fill out the event recap form on time.
  • Compile all event results and share out post mortems with internal stakeholders
  • Lead event kickoff and update calls with retail field teams
  • Plan, manage and execute retailer conferences and/or sponsorships that the brand participates in, including Ulta GMC, shade matching events, reward events, etc.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors. Contract new vendors as needed for event executions.
  • Attend retailer events that are managed and executed as necessary


    Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required, from four-year college or university
  • Three to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably with a color/skincare/cosmetic competitor.
  • Retail related strategy and merchandising work experience required
  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal direction and lead others
  • Exceptional training, organization, communication and interpersonal skills. Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Proven knowledge of industry trends and best practices and ability to work across functional areas.
  • Maturity and skills to represent the company and effectively manage external vendors
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and allocate resources effectively to focus on critical tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills in all office applications.
