As the Event and Sports Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for initiating, maintaining, managing and growing relationships with promoters, track partners, venues, leagues and other entities that stage company - sponsored or supported events and activities on a national scale. This individual will help set the vision for our event/sports marketing platform and will need the ability to think strategically and creatively while maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence. You will work closely with our field Store Operations leaders on ways to enhance our brand presence at local and regional events in their respective markets to generate ROI and maximize branding opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess a true passion for event and sports marketing, as well as superior leadership and negotiation skills.
Essential Job Functions
Lead, inspire, motivate and develop a team of Event and Sports Marketing Specialists in the field
Help set the strategy for our event and sports marketing platform and develop high-level tactics and plan to execute on strategy
Create and maintain budget for your areas of responsibility, including CapEx budget for company-owned trucks, trailers and promotional assets
Develop and execute event/sports marketing KPI's for all budgeted activities
Research, review and analyze new sponsorship and activation opportunities; present recommended proposals to upper management for consideration
Schedule labor for activation at events and oversee all scheduled activities for Event Marketing Specialists in the field
Work closely with our field Store Operations leaders on ways to enhance our brand presence at local and regional events
Ensure that all events sponsored/supported by the company are adequately promoted to the public through promoter and/or O'Reilly generated media
Manage and monitor our event marketing fleet (i.e. trucks, trailers, show car, etc.) to DOT and company standards
Work collaboratively with other Corporate Managers and Team Members in the Advertising department, aligning your efforts with those of your peers to maximize results

Required:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Event Marketing, with a minimum of 5 years' experience or the equivalent combination of education and work experience
Ability to analyze, evaluate and negotiate promotional opportunities and contracts
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized and attentive to detail, especially as regards legal, budgetary and compliance matters
Ability to execute marketing initiatives to meet business and marketing objectives
Ability to work non-traditional hours as needed
Must be available to travel as needed
Ability to work through problems and challenges, overcome obstacles and resolve conflicts
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Must be a team-player and work well with others both internally and externally
Possess a strong sense of urgency
