The Manager, Events and Sponsorships will plan, develop, manage and execute the event marketing program to build the GNC brand, drive traffic to brick and mortar and online and to create engaging customer facing events. Use exceptional leadership and communication skills and a strong understanding of event marketing operations and strategy to execute marketing initiatives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • In conjunction with the Director, Events and Sponsorships, assist in the development of the event marketing strategic plan and to create and develop engaging customer facing events to help drive the brand and create traffic driving events for products and services at both retail and non retail events.
  • Ensure flawless execution of all events through managing, planning and communicating with cross functional teams and third parties.
  • Manage and develop process for all events – retail and non-retail. Working cross functionally and with vendor partners to define objectives, metrics for success, executes program goals, investigates data acquisition opportunities, coordinates and oversees collateral and event logistics. Continuously looks at ways to improve events and metrics.
  • Manage and maintain event marketing budget. Maintain strong fiscal oversight of expenses to ensure budgets are appropriately managed throughout the year. Identify ways to control costs and utilize resources more efficiently.
  • Manage and develop field promotions program that maximizes grassroots marketing efforts and aligns to overall marketing and business objectives. Manage and develop process to streamline field requests and fulfillment. Develop robust grassroots marketing programs that engage stores with local communities.
  • Manage and maintain the event marketing calendar so that it accurately reflects all activities.
  • Manage and review sponsorship requests, athlete/celebrity endorsements and other agreements related to consumer and professional events to see if they align to strategic business objectives. Ensure all grand openings of new stores and re-openings of existing stores are properly executed. Develop cost effective programming to help drive traffic and create engaging customer facing events.
  • Manage and supervise outside vendors, suppliers and agencies. Manage the team of GNC brand ambassador athletes so they consistently represent the brand in a positive way at all events.

    Required Skills

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS


    5 years professional experience in marketing or related field.


    Event marketing experience, solid understanding of event planning, execution and measurement best practices


    Preferred - MBA in Marketing ; Minimum - BA in marketing a plus


  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Superior leadership, organization and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with outside vendors, suppliers and agencies.
  • Retail experience and health and wellness category a plus.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to deal with the general public.
