The Global Experiential Marketing & Partnerships team leads 40+ partnerships globally, delivering the best in premium ticket access, live event and digital experiences across the Card Member passion points of sports, music, fashion, film, and theater. The Premier Events team specifically serves as a center of excellence surrounding the strategy and execution of marquee, live event partnerships, bringing the American Express brand to life at scale during key cultural moments.
The Manager/Senior Manager on the Premier Events team will lead the strategy, activation development, execution and measurement of key sports property partnerships within the portfolio, collaborating with a 360° cross-functional team (internal and external) to launch a fully integrated plan.
Job responsibilities:
Spearheading the strategy, creative development and execution of two major sports partnership activations, bringing our brand to life at scale for consumers in new, innovative ways
Collaborating with robust set of internal partners and external agency partners to leverage best practices across social/digital, advertising, media, PR and brand identity to deliver best work and continuously innovate American Express experiential offerings
Owning and managing large-scale budgets in partnership with Business Affairs team, ensuring close understanding of internal processes and delivering projects that meet or come in under budget
Developing relationships across the American Express enterprise to further business and brand goals across the partnership portfolio
Creating and presenting full activation plans in strategic, clear manner to partners and American Express executives
Representing American Express to the sports industry to deepen our relationships, knowledge and development to continue to be on the cutting edge of fan experiences
Partnering in the collection, analysis and reporting of key program metrics against set objectives
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years work experience with focus area in sponsorship, events, brand and/or experiential/partnership marketing
Proven track record managing partners, cross functional teams and external agencies
Must be able to balance “big picture” thinking with tactical execution
Ability to move projects forward in an efficient manner with minimal oversight
Ability to work under pressure within compressed timelines
Maintain balance with multiple priorities, while demonstrating strong leadership/personal presence
High degree of interpersonal skills and ability to work across various marketing disciplines
Strong communication skills both in crafting and delivering presentations
Focus on innovation and constant appetite to know and learn more across the industry - from marketing to technology to payment innovations
Strong measurement and analytical skills
High level marketing partner negotiation experience and understanding sponsorship valuation a plus
