The individual in this role will have primary responsibility for WM Marketing’s Field Events & Sponsorships: Policy & Procedures, Strategy & Consultations, and Business Development as well as direct management of a field-facing local events program. You will lead and collaborate with internal teams and vendors to successfully design, plan and execute propriety events ensuring consistent brand and event standards. You will ensure that all event components are impactful, follow Morgan Stanley’s standards across regional geographies while providing strategic, innovative thinking to “connect the dots” around key event components including presenters, brand message, locations and overall attendee experience. You will build project plans, lead planning calls, and coordinate with all business partners to meet deliverables, dedicated to measuring return on investment for all programs and provide analysis reporting.


The individual in this role will also support driving client and FA enrollment and engagement with Morgan Stanley’s industry leading client loyalty program, Reserved Living & Giving, supporting all loyalty marketing efforts and helping FAs connect with the next generation through the use of various tools and resources.


The successful candidate will have experience with events and sponsorships as well as marketing and brand/marketing communications and establishing measurements and metrics to determine program effectiveness. This role requires the ability to write, market, analyze data, project manage, prepare spreadsheets and budgets, review and update internal and external websites (conceptually not coding) and help coordinate with outside agencies and internal partners such as Legal, Risk and Compliance. Must be able to operate effectively in a highly matrixed organization and is accountable for understanding regulatory and industry compliance issues in order to provide ideas, program and event concepts that we can effectively execute.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of Local Client Events program including planning, execution and measurement
  • Manage event partner relationship.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance and Risk to maintain, update and communicate policy & procedures to the field; provide balance for FA’s between entrepreneurial feel and having support
  • Serve as SME for all field sponsorship and charitable event inquires
  • Develop ‘Events in a Box’ providing off-the-shelf ideas for FAs, and speaker resources
  • Partner with Field Regional Management to provide business development & consultation for complexes and FA teams
  • Capitalize on internal opportunities/events that could be scaled for clients
  • Deliver strategy presentations to leaders of our businesses and other senior leadership
  • Create content including sales presentations, videos, social media messaging, landing pages etc.
  • Manage project schedules, deliverables and deadlines.
  • Produce and implement promotions and communications plans. Determine delivery channels (emails, social media, events, conference call set ups, roadshows, etc.), content and key deliverables and oversee timing and execution.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem solving to troubleshoot issues and deliver timely execution of deliverables
  • Identify, track and convey success metrics for each project or initiative


    Required Skills

    Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Marketing or Communications preferred with 5-7-years of event marketing and sponsorship experience ideally within the financial service industry
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and balance goals, projects and personalities
  • Experience interfacing and negotiating with groups at all levels and across multiple functions
  • Ability to quickly grasp the specific requirements for, and impacts of, partnership and sponsorship opportunities
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and executing projects within strict timelines, budgets and quality standards.
  • Team player with proven ability to manage numerous relationships and stakeholders across a matrix organization. Ability to facilitate and lead cross-functional teams, and successfully navigate across the firm.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Strong budget oversight
  • Ability to travel as needed (20% time)
