JOB PURPOSE: Lead the global center of excellence that oversees the development, implementation and activation of Caterpillar's current sponsorships and new sponsorships initiatives worldwide.
JOB DUTIES:
The supervisor for this team has responsibility for developing, budgeting and implementing the annual marketing and event activation plan for the Caterpillar global sponsorship program. This position will lead a new expanded sponsorship effort into global markets.
This role has direct responsibility for building and executing the sponsorship plan on time and on budget. Sponsorships support the goals of the annual business plan and are a key contributor to the Caterpillar brand voice and image.
This position requires extensive collaboration and coordination between multiple internal and external groups, and serves as the main contact between the sponsorship partners and Caterpillar. The person in this position handles all contract negotiations, legal, policy and compliance issues, design and content decisions and any other associated sponsor approvals.
The Sponsorship Supervisor oversees the selection and management of the on-site hospitality functions attended by dealers and their customers, the coordination of the Caterpillar group sponsor funds, and maintains extensive accounting records of race track hospitality charges, team expenses and dealer ticket reimbursement money.
The person in this position will travel up to 20 weekends per year to oversee hospitality events, in addition to other global travel required to ensure sponsorship effectiveness, while also recruiting the appropriate marketing and product personnel to staff events. The Sponsorship Supervisor also provides direction to external hospitality and management firms dedicated to serving Caterpillar dealer event needs and develops all publicity and dealer support materials.
Working with the Global Brand Marketing team to develop a multi-channel content activation programs, the Sponsorship Supervisor’s efforts are closely aligned with the corporate brand platform and all active campaigns. This role is charged with building a strong connection between the individual sponsorships and Caterpillar’s target audience(s), assuring content campaigns are planned, executed, measured and optimized in real-time. Thus, this position is a key partner and liaison with the Insights Analysis team to effectively build, measure and report on key program metrics like: brand equity, lead generation and profitable business growth.
