As part of our marketing and brand strategy, United Rentals develops and activates sponsorships with partners across a variety of sports and other relevant categories, such as INDYCAR, MetLife Stadium, AEG, PGA Tour and others. The Corporate Sponsorship Manager is responsible for leading and executing this varied mix of programs to ensure maximum internal and external (customer) engagement, brand experience and preference, related revenue capture, and return on investment. This position may be based in either Stamford, CT or Scottsdale, AZ.
Essential Duties:
Sponsorship Management:
Source and vet opportunities and assist with contract structure and negotiations as needed.
Serve as single point of contact, manage relationships and develop positive partnerships with partner organizations.
Lead efforts to maximize impact and results of sponsor/partner programs and related activities.
Manage and fulfill all contractual requirements for each partnership, often dealing with c-level or similar executives internally and within partner organizations.
Partner with sales/operations to ensure partnerships deliver against defined UR revenue goals and opportunities.
Manage third-party sports marketing agency of record.
Activation:
Create strategic plans that leverage the unique characteristics and opportunities of each partnership to connect with customers and bring the UR brand to life through curated experiences.
Develop unique customer experiences and lead the execution of high-impact hospitality events.
Develop and manage event communications plans.
Manage tickets, hospitality, branding and other assets of partnership programs
Partner with internal and agency creative resources as needed to develop related branding/advertising assets.
Internal Engagement:
Evangelize colleagues to build awareness and excitement about sponsorship programs and gain support and involvement.
Partner with key stakeholders across business units to deliver on objectives.
Assist sales teams in understanding and leveraging hospitality, branding and promotional opportunities of each program.
Promote program wins and successes to internal constituents.
Reporting:
Responsible for all budget planning, tracking and management related to all events and programs
Collaborate with leadership to establish goals and objectives and provide regular reporting on success against relevant metrics.
Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and events, including reach, engagement, effectiveness and outcomes.
Produce executive-level presentations on strategy and program performance.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Sports Marketing, Event/Hospitality Management, Business, or related field required.
Experience: 5+ years of related work experience in sports marketing, sponsorship management, or experiential marketing, either internal corporate or agency.
Other Skills Required:
Demonstrated success in sports marketing and/or experiential marketing programs.
Experience negotiating and managing complex contracts and large event budgets.
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills a must.

Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
Willingness to work remotely and travel up to 50% of the time, including outside of the US as needed.
