Bell Canada is seeking an experienced sponsorship professional to oversee our Central Canada sponsorship portfolio. This position is a full time permanent position. As Senior Manager, Sponsorships you will report to the Director, Sponsorship and Events, and will work alongside other members of Bell’s national sponsorship, hosting and events team.

This position, based in Mississauga, will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, planning and execution of programs associated with each property under your portfolio. Driving the activation strategy, you will lead a capable team of sponsorship specialists as you flawlessly execute each program.

Your portfolio is comprised of some of Canada’s leading properties in each of their respective categories including but limited to – Canadian Olympic Committee, Paralympic Committee, Toronto Raptors, Toronto FC, Toronto Argos, Ottawa Senators, NFL, NBA Canada, and a wide range of esports and gaming properties.

As a Senior Manager Sponsorships, your success will be measured back to four core areas of reasonability and accountability. Engagement – All programs will include measured outcomes to track engagement performance within the targeted audience. Business – Align planning cycle within the business framework. Working across the organization, ensure you are leveraging all available assets within our portfolio to drive business KPI’s. Brand - Demonstrate Bell’s leadership position by enhancing a compelling brand and product connection through the properties, events, and experiences we offer. Operations – Oversite and accountability for your operational budget, execution of each program and employee management and development.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Program delivery across your portfolio that drives - Engagement, Business and Brand results.
  • Sponsorship evaluation / contract negotiation as needed.
  • Accountability for overall portfolio budget management and project administration.
  • Management of a team of sponsorship specialists within your functional group.
  • Leaning heavily on your expertise in the sponsorship field, you will be leading and guiding the day-to-day operations of your team and your portfolio.

    Required Skills

    Core Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the field of sponsorship. Either on the brand, agency or property side.
  • Ability to complete full project requirements from planning meetings, setting project objectives, sourcing and budgeting through to project execution and demonstrating ROI.
  • Sound leadership skills and the ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment that can include many reporting levels and varying skills/competencies
  • Organized team player with ability to work collaboratively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Energetic personality. This is a “roll up the sleeves, no entitlement here” help lift as required to get it done organization.
  • Experience in managing AOR, Experiential agencies and the corresponding budget responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Positive, flexible and open-minded

    Additional Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Relevant university degree.
  • Telecommunications industry experience an asset.
  • SME on trends and the evolving digital consumer ecosystem – tied to engagement, content, entertainment, and gamification.
  • Ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset.
  • Given the nature of the work, and event/game schedules of your properties you will be working with, you are expected to be available to work evenings and weekends as required.

    Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
