Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing + Media, we are looking for a results-driven Director of Sports Marketing to promote activations, events, players and teams through our partnerships in Los Angeles. This role will also be responsible for ensuring that adequate and effective advertising is present at all events, including broadcast, radio, banners, POS, activations, Member experiences and digital advertising through the apps and branded ATMs.


The Director of Sports Marketing will primarily focus on the daily management and growth of the partnership, including agency management. We are looking for someone who is experienced, entrepreneurial, analytical, and creative. Sport and entertainment experience is a plus.


What You'll Do:

  • Serve as day-to-day contact for key partners and agencies
  • Oversee all elements of partnerships, including concerts, sporting events, activation areas and Member hospitality
  • Develop and simultaneously manage multiple budgets and oversee forecasting, billing and reconciliation
  • Manage vendor relationships, including contracting, payments and oversight of the deliverables and quality of work
  • Work closely with the creative team on the creation, testing and optimization of assets
  • Manage a team, including coaching and career development, program execution and developing key competencies
  • Create/refine processes and templates for program management as required
  • Create and maintain administrative documents for monthly reports and presentations, including proposals, POVs, recaps, agendas and timelines
  • Onsite supervision/coordination of activation elements as needed to ensure successful execution
  • Develop/maintain a thorough working knowledge of event trends
  • Maintain a permanent residence in the Los Angeles area
  • Ability to travel to San Francisco at least once a month


    Required Skills

  • 10-15 years experience in Marketing and some experience in the sports and entertainment industry
  • Proven track record of evaluating, developing and determining key priority and budget breakdowns, driven by KPIs, to deliver business results
  • Ability to translate market, consumer and business insights into business strategies and priorities
  • Clear understanding of the sports business landscape and entertainment / media marketplace
  • Experience in developing and executing marketing strategies and execution efforts specific to key audience cohorts
  • Great leadership skills with experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Must be a critical and creative thinker who challenges the norm
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills – remains calm under pressure
  • Composed and professional: daily contact with clients and stakeholders via face-to-face communication/presentations, email and phone
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Ability to work both at high quality and at a fast pace
  • Strong work ethic – collaborative team player who is proactive and driven, works well on a team or independently
  • Passionate and motivated with a positive attitude – solutions oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
