We are seeking to hire a Communications Manager to help plan, manage, and execute integrated brand communications efforts for our Sports & Fitness Business unit that supports major brands to include Gatorade and Propel. In this role, you will partner and work with Gatorade’s external agencies and the Gatorade/Propel brand teams to ensure that brand marketing objectives are optimally supported through traditional and non-traditional earned media. This role will support our PR strategy and execution for Gatorade’s U.S.-based initiatives and will support the brand PR strategy for Gatorade’s global markets.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with development of creative communications plans to support Gatorade’s products, including innovation launches, product benefits, campaign efforts and consumer engagement initiatives.
  • Co-lead Gatorade communications initiatives including event strategy and execution. Support and leverage sports marketing assets including NBA, NFL, MLB, NASCAR, etc.
  • Lead Propel communications including strategy and execution.
  • Manage and direct PR agency including day-to-day project management and reporting.
  • Participate in cross-functional planning/executions including the Brand and Consumer Engagement teams (sports marketing, digital, social, insights and experiential).
  • Develop media relationships on behalf of the brand with sports, lifestyle, fitness, tech, innovation and business media.
  • Provide strategic and executional PR expertise/support for global markets.


    Required Skills


    Required Skills:

  • Bachelor degree Required
  • Keen understanding of sports and fitness category including knowledge and 8+ years experience in public relations either client-side or PR agency
  • Strong sports, fitness and lifestyle media contacts required
  • A creative, collaborative approach to problem-solving and campaign development
  • Demonstrated results with program development and project management from beginning to end
  • Strong writing and editing experience including presentations and press materials, as well as messaging, speeches and events


    Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with consumer packaged goods experience a plus
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of the digital and social space Multi-task management, project coordination and execution, logistics and budget tracking against program goals and objectives; a framework for creative that marries against business goals and communications strategies
