The Sports Event Marketing Manager (SEMM) is responsible for driving the development and execution of National properties, large scale events and key event initiatives in the region, creating points of differentiation and driving brand image. The SEMM will serve as a project leader, interfacing with all key stakeholders to maximize the impact of major region Sports event initiatives. Responsibilities to include all elements of event execution from creative development, concept, execution & evaluation. This role is responsible for collaborating with and providing direction and assistance to the local field teams to fully leverage all Sports properties and Red Bull partners in host markets. This includes informing goal setting, identifying key scenes and relationships, guiding relevant initiatives in-line with National and regional events that occur within the region.


LEADS EXECUTION OF ALL REGIONAL SPORTS EVENTS

  • Leads quality event execution and production for all region Red Bull Sports events.
  • Fiscally responsible for event budgets on assigned projects.
  • Identifies and proposes sites for event properties based on local market needs and expected ROI.
  • Develops project plan, oversees its execution and leads the project team.
  • Oversees all elements of pre-planning and event execution.
  • Acts as the liaison between Red Bull and relevant local authorities to secure all appropriate authorization.
  • Ensures information is spread between team members and stakeholders.
  • Manages event budget - Works with Legal to construct contracts, puts contracts out for bid, assesses the best proposals and negotiates best prices for all relevant partners / suppliers.
  • Sources and manages Event Production Companies and oversee all event logistics.
  • Works with media agency on development of Above-the-Line strategies and execution.
  • Partners with region communications team to maximize media outcome of key projects.
  • Works with Region Leadership and SaMo teams to inform region Sports Marketing strategy.
  • Works with Risk Management and Legal departments to facilitate all necessary agreements with outside parties according to Red Bull standards.


    SHARE BEST PRACTICES

  • Actively participates in meetings such as Brand Marketing Manager creative workshops and trainings to gather and share learnings and align strategies.
  • Identifies and shares best practices across region marketing team and Sports department.
  • Drives ROI with Communications Manager to ensure proper communication (external) – includes creating & managing content distribution of local initiatives to relevant channels. (viral, print, video).


    INFORMS PLANNING Provides insights to Region Sports and Marketing leadership to inform business planning

  • Responsible for creative development of future Red Bull events – gold standard.
  • Supports Sr. Sports Marketing Manager & Brand Managers in building out quarter and business plans.


    SUPPORTS PRODUCT ACTIVATION

  • Works with BMM’s and local sales teams to develop activation plans that drive relevance locally.
  • Organizes and manages distribution of event collateral for region.
  • Works with Region marketing leadership and 3rd-parties as necessary to develop new and innovative branding solutions for events.


    Required Skills


    Strong (3-5 years) relevant experience in event, project, team coordination and budget management Skills/Abilities: The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of event/project management, very strong communication skills, and the ability to find creative and unique solutions for project execution. These include such skills as:

  • Knowledge of a wide variety of sports & their respective scenes, on a regional & national level
  • Experience managing budgets - $400K+
  • Contract and negotiation skills – constructing, reviewing and negotiating the most advantageous agreements with suppliers / external partners
  • Thorough understanding of relevant distribution outlets (all communication channels)
  • Strong understanding of TV and video production programming
  • Credible collaboration with local government demonstrating an understanding of local approval systems and regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, including presenting and training abilities. Strong coach/leader- ability to foster meaningful dialogue and gain buy-in. Strong planning and project management competencies. Ability to cultivate team environment. Creative mind with a track record of putting new ideas into practice and assessing results. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Fluent in English
